I think it's fine. It's a show based in the 80s and they already have a lesbian main character. Will isn't even that big this season.

Is Harry Styles in the Stranger Things writers room?

A fictional 12 year old boy in the early 1980’s living in a small town in California with no internet is supposed to know he’s gay AND come out to his friends AND have a boyfriend in the final season of a show that is ending… according to ATRL.  Delusion.

its a bit annoying bc after all that the gang has gone through, why would they make Will come off the way they have in this new season? WHAT DID HE PAINT? Why are Mike and El so obnoxious ever since they got together? I honestly hope they don't go in the most obvious direction if they make Will officially gay bc- well is it too late if everyone seems to be talking about Will being into Mike?

Will, sweetie, love yourself! You're in california, ffs

Will is gay but not that it matters

Before people start dragging remember this is set in the 80s where you probably couldn’t be openly LGBTQ+

Yeah you know what, I am kind of starting to get annoyed by this thing where hints are dropped toward someone being gay but then it's followed up with "it's 2022 who CARES about labels! You're weird for projecting!"

Like...? I don't think any of us gays would really care either way about a TV show character but it would just be odd to tease someone having same-sex attraction and then just nothing else. It's also just divorced from reality. Believe me, most of us wish we didn't have to come out all the time but that's just not how the world works. Men are expected to date women. We don't get to pull the "who cares about labels?" thing out of a hat when our families or co-workers judge us for being with another man.

Like for all the "why does it matter what his sexuality is?" ...gays don't think it should? We think it should be normal to be gay or straight or in between. Society is what makes it still feel like "other" to the point where one has to come out and make it known.

I partly get what you mean, but it’s really no one’s business. They shouldn’t be asking.

I think some people are comfortable coming out and being transparent and others just keeping it to themselves.

I’m personally bi and more comfortable just being something personal. I don’t like to put my personal business out there.

there's a lesbian character in the show :rip:

i don't think anyone is expecting her or will to come out though?

anyway, idrc about a fictional character's sexuality let alone a teenager's

if he's revealed to be gay, great, if not, oh well

but the way im so used to lesbian representation being so easy and cool but when it comes to gay representation there's always this vagueness :gaycat6:
