It can't be overstated how truly unprecedented this is. When other vintage songs have gone viral, they've maybe re-charted for one or two weeks at most. RUTH is performing like a brand new song, outperforming every other song globally on the youngest/most modern platforms, and continuing to build and reach new peaks for months now :jonny5: 

 

Kate is being treated like a new artist by a new generation; I hope her team sees beyond RUTH and continues re-releasing and promoting her other work.

I'm honestly surprised it took this long for an old song to be resent to radio after going viral...I mean what's wrong with sending even an album track that's just 4-5 years old that blows up on TikTok?

Sure, that has happened before with songs like "Truth Hurts" and "I Love You So". But it's even more mind-blowing for songs 30+ years old.

TBF it's been charting on radio within 2 weeks of the first Stranger Things episode.
