Brando
Bigger at the time or bigger overall? Beyonce's eras were always bigger than contemporary Britney eras from the start. Overall she definitively passed her around the Super Bowl.

PrudenceHCharmed
Most probably since I AM SASHA FIERCE (though it can be argued that she was already bigger since DIL and Dreamgirls is more iconic than Spears' movie role) B was winning in the singles department (digital sales; ringtones; airplay) ; album sales; videography; touring; money making (B was the top earner that year) and awards around 2008-2010. UnanimousBB16
Her first...... "Dangerously In Love" was bigger than "In The Zone". The pattern continued with each of their successive albums. Edited May 18, 2022 by UnanimousBB16
Trent W
Honestly Bey has been outselling her since she debuted. But is a bit stupid to compare them era vs era cause Britney was already in her way out by the time Bey debuted. Overall career Britney was always bigger until ST/Lemonade were Bey was on a league of her own. Currently the conversation of who has a bigger career becomes redundant since is really hard to put one on top of the other. They are around the same. The pattern continued either each of their successive albums. Dangerously In Love needed payola to score hits. Beyonce didn’t do better than Britney organically until ST. DIL was fueled by payola, B’Day and IA…SF each had to be released in some 20+ editions and IA…SF and 4 both gave free downloads away in South Korea to inflate digital sales. ST was the first time a Beyonce era organically outdid a Britney era. Chronologically: BOMT > DIL OIDIA > B’Day Britney < IA…SF ITZ > 4 Blackout < BEYONCE Circus > Lemonade Femme Fatale > The Gift
NausAllien
Dangerously in Love While Britney was struggling to chart, Bey came with 3 smash hits (Crazy in Love, Baby Boy and Naughty Girl). According to ChartMasters, DIL has also sold more than In the Zone (which was released around that time). 17,350,000 CSPC vs 13,082,000 to be more precise. By the time B'Day came out, it wasn't even close. B'Day sold almost three times more than Blackout (including more than twice as much in pure sales) and had the biggest song of the year 2007: Irreplaceable, which charted #1 in the YEC. If we add DC to the equation Bey will be bigger obviously. But not all people see it this way. Most count solo careers. I don’t want to get into a conversation were everyone argues if DC counts or not. It’s always tiring. To make things more simple: Solo Beyonce vs Brintey are around the same and DC + Beyonce >>>> Britney overall
