Adele’s 30: what went wrong?

Also, the whole calling Red "a re-recording" is getting stale, as if that album didn't have 9 whole new, never heard before tracks, including 3 collabs and a hotly anticipated song that was talked about for like, 10 years :rip: Adele's entire album has 12 tracks. Red TV is doing well all the power to her, but there's nothing impressive about a re-released album with NINE NEW SONGS and THREE COLLABS doing well. There are far more impressive chart runs currently outselling both Adele and Taylor. Hollywood's Bleeding is right there, for instance.

She said she'd rather be frontloaded than have longevity if it means selling the same amount in the end and put all the promo for "Easy On Me" which is carrying the era and said "I'm good" after having the #1 IFPI global album of 2021 in 6 weeks of sales

Even if you take out the "overship", she would still have the #1 best selling album and vinyl of the year :skull: Like math is not difficult and until when the OAHs will be running with this lie?

This is where you guys give yourselves away. She's out of the top 50. It's not being "outsold by a re-recording" it's being outsold by FORTY-NINE albums. The fact that y'all zero in on your fav vs Adele is what makes everyone think you're pressed.

Also can we stop asking "what went wrong?" already :rip: atp this is a weekly thread. Just bump one of the old ones and be done with it.

That person doesn't even stan Taylor :dies:

And you can cry as much as you want, Red TV is still a re-recording. And the vault tracks aren't all "never before heard tracks". One is just an extended version of a previously released track and two of them were released by other artists. Let's see Harry or any other artist pull these re-recordings off if there's 'nothing impressive about it'

Maybe Adele should follow in Taylor’s footsteps and re-record 21? She’s not making anything quality anyway so she might as well give us something.

:rip: @ me being a Swiftie.

I’ve defended Adele on here many times but no amount of fuming or other comparisons will change the fact that RED TV is factually a re-recording of a 10 year old album and there’s no excuse for it to currently be outselling 30, sorry.

He doesn’t have to because he owns his masters.

9 new songs make it a new album. Sorry. The album was released very close together to 30. There isn’t anything weird or impressive about Red outselling 30 and there are better examples to use here.

Gotta agree. What went wrong is Adele herself. She changed, her music has gotten progressively worse 19>21>25>30, she has a bad additude, cares more about getting D than her fans, she is lazy, entitled, too thin, less funny and overall has no connection to reality anymore. She bought into the hype and lost anything that made her appealing. She is basically a run of the mill London slag at this point.

Julia Fox came to stardom and outdid her, that’s what happen xx

OT: People would literally buy an Adele album even if she just hummed quietly for 55 minutes. I doubt the GP cares about the Vegas drama, the only issue is that she isn’t pushing the album.

Yes because the #2 and #3 albums weren't based on shipments either - oh wait :hoetenks:

25 yes, but 30 isn’t. 30 is actually quite different for her tbh, they just pushed the one song on the album that sounded the most like 25 as the lead (which I believe was a huge problem, but I digress). 30 isn’t amazing by any means, but it’s not all terrible either. There’s a few standout tracks. Although tbh, I’m not really sure what they could’ve done with this album commercially. :michael:

She made better music and her blue eyed soul music was actually a little bit more black this time, so she confused a part of her audience.

She is just not interested in promoting anymore. She needs to perform To Be Loved in a big event.

The music is just not good, nor commercial, enough.
