Achilles. Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Her stans wouldn’t care; evermore is her least successful album and it’s nearly universally beloved by the fanbase. Stans would probably just disappear from atrl / other pop sites to avoid the lashings, which would give the impression of us abandoning ship; trust that we’d still be enjoying the music and selling out the stadium tour even if we weren’t online for you to see us doing it.
Oktober Knight Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 Her fans won't disappear but 80% of Swifties on ATRL would cause there would be nothing to brag about.
bestfiction Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 (edited) That would never happen but even then flopping on her 10th album 16 years into her career would be a sign of an unmatched longevity Edited April 21, 2022 by bestfiction
John Slayne Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 as someone who doesn't like her music... nothing would happen. she's already had enormous success and achieved everything there is to be achieved in the music industry. she'll stay rich and her fanbase will keep her afloat for the rest of her life. there would definitely be meltdowns on ATRL and tbh I'd kii at Swifties too, but in reality she has nothing to prove to anyone
Dystopian Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 she has like the largest and most loyal fanbase ever so it’s not likely, tho it would be interesting. i’d live for a phoenix rising from the ashes moment from her.
BOOMBAYAH Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 I think Taylor flopping is impossible because she has such a devoted fanbase. Even if she lost all general public support, her fanbase is so humongous that they could easily get her #1 album and song with moderate competition (even though it would be fleeting). I mean look at Evermore and Folklore, no offence but the average person on the street probably would not be able to give you 3 songs for either of those albums, and yet they where still commercially successful because of how strong and dedicated her fans are.
The Music Industry Posted April 21, 2022 Posted April 21, 2022 The random wishful thinking from some here as if her most recent release didn't debut with 600K+ and doesn't hold the record for biggest female streaming debut ever It must suck to be an OTH
Cloröx Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 The only way Swifties will abandon her if she releases album full with garbage like ME!. Majority will stay as long as as the music is masterpiece. For example, evermore can be considered big underperforming but the music is immaculate hence majority still loyal which explain an increase in Red TV debut sales.

Most of us were fans from the beginning and fell in love with the maturity and honesty of her songwriting as just a teenager, and grew up with her, and stayed because we loved the music. Most of us would stay even if the album didn’t sell or chart well. can you expand on that maturity comment lol
wren Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Unless she released a metal album or a lullaby album - that is the only possible scenery of this ever potentially happening.

Give me an album of Me! will def not buy; Lover was low key hard to buy cause it's her worst album (few highlights for sure); but she made it up with folklore and evermore for sure!
vuelve88 Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 It's impossible. The debut week will instantly make it more successful than most albums released in the same year.
ATRL Moderator Bloo Posted April 22, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted April 22, 2022 If TS10 bombs, then a large number of threads will be made talking about Taylor's reign has ended. If TS10 smashes, then a large number of threads will be made talking about how Taylor's reign is in the process of ending.

I don't think Taylor herself has become any more smug than she was back ten years ago, but I do feel like a lot of her stans have become very haughty. Not all of them, but the ones that are on stan Twitter and then go join other sites. OP: I'd probably start stanning again. Every icon needs a dark period (commercially) to transform them into a bona-fide legend. IIRC you made a thread last month about Adele leaving the top 40 or am I wrong? OT: I don't think she will have a commercial bomb ala artpop or bionic this decade. Maybe in her 40s but still it's very unlikely considering that she had 4 albums sell 1m first week and another 2 800k openings. Even evermore which is her worst performing album will have at least 5m units in the long run.

There's always been something smug/self-entitled about Taylor that I can't put my finger on. This has also reflected on her fanbase. Her and her fans need humbling It likely won't happen though You're odd. - She would be completely over and forgotten ofc
lenchen. Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 I don’t think anyone would care as long as the music is good? You could argue evermore is an underperformance for her but I think most swifties have it in their top 3 rankings. The thing is even if her next album would flop, people just go back to streaming her other albums. Her entire discography is a classic so in the end she always wins.
State of Grace. Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 TS10 would completely BOMB and she would still be the biggest female artist on earth
GraceRandolph Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 That’s not happening, but it’s not going to change a thing OTHs!
LosingHimWasBlue Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 lol, good luck booking that flop u speak of
brainmaniac Posted April 22, 2022 Posted April 22, 2022 Taylor has a lot of momentum from Red TV and even some from Evermore Her current momentum has essentially guaranteed that TS10 will be a hit Now if TS10 fails to have longevity after it’s initial success and/or the other TVs fail to live up to expectations then TS11 could bomb, but she’s good to go for TS10
