Okay, but again... Garland is just going to let him go so he doesn't look political, so nothing here really matters.

Oh I agree, just posting the news and opinion that's out there. And I say that as someone that's neither a lawyer or constitutional scholar.ย

Not so much as being inconvenient, but that there were a few pro-life democratic senators that would have made codifying Roe an exercise similar to passing BBB was last year.ย

The issue with this claim - that I keep seeing made - is that at the time there were more pro-choice Republicans than there were pro-Life Democrats, ie:ย Olympia Snowe (ME - literally had a 100% pro-choice ranking during her time in the Senate), Kay Bailey Hutchison (TX) and Arlen Specter (PA - who would literally go on to change parties and expand Dems' numerical majority).

ย

In fact, many of whom would be key votes to pass other legislation like the Lilly Ledbetter Act that passed with 61 votes literally in 2009.

ย

Passing equal pay with a 60-vote majority but NOT codifying Roe with the same 60-vote majority was an intentional choice to ~play both sides~ by Dems, buying into the idea of abortion as extreme.

I know you're as jaded as I am, if not more :laugh:ย

ย

Giving everyone else a reality check. All these libs kii'ing and creaming themselves over nothing-burgers that Trump will somehow get taken down over this.

Now both NBC News and ABC News are saying that the Secret Service will be pushing back against the story.

CNN saying Ornato & Enger will deny under oath.ย

^Then let them.ย

ย

And be prepared with follow up questions. Cause everyone knows who Trump is, so the little damage control can only lead to more damaging revelations. That then someone else will have to testify to โ€œclear upโ€.ย ย :cm:

CBS News reports they have previously appeared before the committee, on the record - but the committee did not use the sessions today:

Yeah, that's the deal that Dems made by having them a part of the caucus.

Iโ€™m so sad. Sheโ€™s my representative and I really like her a lot. Ugh Iโ€™m so disappointed.ย

Yay for progressives! (Communion's post)

ย

----

ย

And not Chris Cillizza tweeting that about Hillaryย :biblio:

ย

Speaking of which, I recommend my fellow progressives watch these videos in full of Keith Olbermann ENDING Hillary :wanda:ย (I'm only stanning him in these videos btw :gaycat2:)

ย

Not him pretty much calling Hillary a racist Republican NNN

ย

ย

And the way he lists ALL the corrupt and dishonorable things Hillary's doneย ย :deadbanana4:ย Tulsi to Kamala teas. It's not even a drag, it's literally reading out one's record!

ย

ย

Bernie ABSOLUTELY has to run if Hillary does. The fact that she had the nerve to run a 2nd time after she got ANNIHILATED like that on live TV^ย :biblio:.

ย

and the fact that she may run a 3rd time after being such a loser that she lost to a reality TV personality despite her having ALL the establishment support in existence and despite her pushing for said reality TV personality's success to get the Rep nomination!

Oh god. Oh.....god.ย Florida? The hubris. Whew.

ย

I suppose anyone across the spectrum that runs for President needs an ego on some kind.

ย

DeSantis would crush Newsom. As for Trump, all bets are off for me ever since that New Hampshire poll.

ย

Wow, itโ€™s almost like it actually was a โ€œDonโ€™t Say Gayโ€ law despite us being told it was simply anti-grooming. And polls showed even a majority of Democratic voters supported this law. :rip:ย And anyone who opposed it was labeled a pedophile. The fact that DeSantis is supposed to be the โ€œmoderateโ€ reasonable Republican that we should be happy to take over Trump. My own dad thinks that while Trump is bad, anyone who wouldnโ€™t vote for DeSantis for President has been โ€œcompletely brainwashed by the liberal mediaโ€. :skull:ย This is the problem with Democrats making Trump out to be an anomaly based on a prioritization of a facade of decorum above all else!

Posted

A lot depends on who's being polled and where, as I've seen numbers all over the map.

ย

Also I'm assuming you're referring to MSM as I don't know any leftist who refers to DeSantis as a "moderate Republican". Maybe older neolibs :rip:ย

ย

DeSantis is an extremely agile, very politically astute, proud fascist. He's a more resentful Dick Cheney and Erik Prince with twice the energy.ย

ย

Way too many U.S. citizens are disoriented by Trump's chaos they don't think orderly dictatorships are possible :ace:ย

Well well well. I guess we'll have to wait for the agents' testimony under oath.

I donโ€™t think she should become some girlboss icon but it would be poetic and a kii if a young woman was the one to actually take down Trump after everything. I honestly donโ€™t see why she would lie, she has nothing to lose as a young former aide, the men who want to be in Trumpโ€™s cabinet again are obviously gonna deflect.

Especially since Trump literally (not figuratively) hired his actual bodyguards for political positions :rip:ย

ย

Not only that, but the Secret Service had to actually clean house at the beginning of Biden's term because of a literal conspiracy to undermine Biden in case of an active assailant among some pro-Trump agents.

The thing with DeSantis is that heโ€™s obviously more dangerous than Trump and terrifying (I would rather have Trump again gun to my head) but I donโ€™t know if I fully buy yet that heโ€™s some unstoppable force destined to win. I think most voters are not familiar with him yet. Heโ€™s also not charismatic and actually comes off wooden compared to the free-wheeling Trump. MAGAts still see Trump as their leader, and regardless Trump will do anything to make him lose.
