Save-Me-Oprah Posted yesterday at 03:32 AM Posted yesterday at 03:32 AM people on Abby Phillip acting a fool as usual Scott Jennings and that other Scott guy...
Relampago. Posted yesterday at 04:30 AM Posted yesterday at 04:30 AM (edited) I wonder how long this right wing wave will last. Really sad times we live in, honestly. I'm just savoring the rest of the year until the inevitable sh*tshow that next year will have. Also, I have to say while Kamala didn't have the best campaign ever, blaming her or even the Democratic Party feels short sighted imo. Very poor campaigners and all around but more of a symptom to a bigger problem. This country is in dire need of education and opportunity. But the aisles are so defined, the country so split and the parties so incompetent, we won't get anything. People on both sides believe that taking rights away from people and eliminating woke will somehow make them rich. It's very sad. Edited yesterday at 04:32 AM by Relampago. 2 3

Armani? Posted yesterday at 02:46 PM Posted yesterday at 02:46 PM Safe to say the Wisconsin exit poll was a hot mess 91/9(+82) to 89/10(+79) ?? This Hispanic tank isn't as bad as most other states this cycle I guess @Communion @Thesedays @GraceRandolph https://law.marquette.edu/facultyblog/2024/11/how-wisconsin-split-its-ticket-once-again/ 1

Hex Posted yesterday at 03:12 PM Posted yesterday at 03:12 PM I'm really concerned about the conservative shift among young men, specifically Gen Z. It's weird seeing guys from my high school in an extremely liberal state become "red-pilled" losers that are resentful towards women, hate "wokism" and think Trump "tells it like it is". I hate the fact that telling men that the patriarchy is responsible for so much hardship for women has made them lean harder into misogyny rather than do self-reflection because it makes them uncomfortable. I'm not sure what the path is moving forward to get young men back on track. How does the left win them back? Because unfortunately going even further left will not work. Kamala barely ran a progressive campaign and was still labeled a socialist clown by most of the right and especially the young straight men I know. Obviously, that's because of the easier-than-ever spread of misinformation but how do we even combat that? It sees impossible. The only path I see forward is for Trump to royally screw us, the right implodes and the Democrats once again run on a "fix the mess" campaign with new faces that are seen as moderate. 2 1
Armani? Posted yesterday at 03:43 PM Posted yesterday at 03:43 PM Donald Trump reaching net even favorability in the recent polls is extremely bizarre to see
Vermillion Posted yesterday at 03:44 PM Posted yesterday at 03:44 PM @Hex Deindustrialization, increased isolation, #MeToo backlash, the rise of incel influencers without a counterbalance and #BernieBro backlash to the backlash have already been unpacked here for dozens of pages. So I don't know how productive, as you said, it is to revisit any of it. Unless the DNC changes it's funding sourcing as it's guiding force for quid pro quos (i.e. Kamala and Uber) and dogma on Israel their power will only come from now on as an only alternate source to turn to as crisis reaction (Bush to Obama re: wars and recession, Trump to Biden solely on Covid). Hakeem's meeting with Liz after the fact shows nothing's changing. Which means the culture wars are going to have to be fought brutally without any DC input. Polling isn't budging for a decade or more on hormones for trans youth and housing cost and supply isn't budging either. Progressive media is flailing for internal egos and funding problems inherent to its mission with little silver linings except DropSite and a handful of others. Not seeing tangible narrative movement from Hasan either. So, barring shaming in the MSM, we have to wait and take major setbacks from SCOTUS. There's no heir to Bernie that can unite the tent as feelings are still too raw re: identity vs. class solidarity. Economic nihilism in the form of late-stage capitalism overpowered the overhyped female bodily autonomy as the primary motivator, almost solely on the strength of Latino men that couldn't be bothered to look up what a tariff was. So I'm at a loss. The notion of needing more cultural influencers is wildly misplaced and no longer possible in the culture wars. Everything now is culturally and politically coded from the products you buy, the clothes you wear, the shows you watch, the sports you go to, the state you live in, the car you drive, the devices you use, and on and on. So again, not sure where to go from here. The Dem bench is abysmal and that includes AOC, Whitmer and Beshear. The DNC will force feed us the vile snake and oppo research wet dream Josh Shapiro, thus dividing the base while the MSM will lap up the right's cries of antisemitism. I don't know where you want to start because I have no idea. 3

The only way he isn't the nominee is him wanting to finish out his second governor term in PA.
