Mike91 Posted Monday at 11:03 PM Posted Monday at 11:03 PM Some people in here saying Americans know the difference between conservative and liberal. Meanwhile they vote to raise the minimum wage and access for abortion all while voting for TRUMP and republicans. 3
GhostBox Posted Monday at 11:07 PM Posted Monday at 11:07 PM (edited) If Trump gives the farm industry an exemption from the "deportations" 😂 like somehow his supporters will still find a way to support him even after going back on his biggest campaign pledge. I had a great long answer given for this but then ATRL kicked me out again and deleted my post. All I'll say is that @dabunique and I discussed this regarding the Cubans in Florida months ago. 1
Bloodflowers. Posted Monday at 11:14 PM Posted Monday at 11:14 PM New shoe0nhead video just dropped @Communion @GraceRandolph @Beyonnaise I am curious to hear your thoughts, pls watch video in full if you can
Vermillion Posted Monday at 11:16 PM Posted Monday at 11:16 PM The anecdotes of those thinking the man who paid for multiple abortions couldn't possibly institute a national ban is THE reason for Trump/Dobbs ticket splitters, point blank. As for the minimum wage, that'll take pages here to unpack. @Mike91

Vermillion Posted Monday at 11:23 PM Posted Monday at 11:23 PM The entire dynamic here is fascinating. I'd recommend folks watch this fight closely as it's a proxy battle for tectonic party shifts going forward. Speculation that Trump got enough union member support so that either he or someone on his team felt deferential in putting her forward. Sincere or not, there's neocon backlash. Maybe they just wanted the appearance they were fighting for them. 1

CandyCoatedClouds Posted Monday at 11:54 PM Posted Monday at 11:54 PM You know an empire on average lasts about 250 years and the USA just happens to be 248 years old. Anyway. I've gone from fretting to almost hoping Trump does everything in project 2025 just so it can light a fire under people's asses. Everyone is so complacent these days, it's depressing. Also do we think Tim Walz is too tainted by this run to go for the presidential ticket in 2028? He's the closest thing to Bernie Sanders that we have in the democratic party. 1

I've seen this in the last few days as the progressive mirror image to Biden's runs but I don't buy it, mostly because the DNC isn't willing to budge on policy changes, starting with Israel.

On a serious note, all the attacks against Walz stuck, so I'm not sure he's a good candidate. His debate against Vance wasn't good either, and that's who he would likely face in 28. 1
FameFatale Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM Posted yesterday at 12:04 AM That'll bring costs down…. 🙄 guess I better start hoarding things up before next year. 3 1
Vermillion Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM Posted yesterday at 12:15 AM Expect this debate to rage for the next four years and for Dems to make almost no progress on it. Whether I agree or disagree with any point or response below doesn't matter at this point. I've resigned myself to accept that Dems will only win from now on in all houses as a result of crisis reaction and not from their agenda to solve problems proactively.
