Interesting vocal analysis :clap3: We love people who can sing :clap3:

Interesting indeed that he didn't/couldn't conclude one was decidedly better than the other.

One thing is for sure though, SM really does set the standard when it comes to vocalists. Wendy's talent is just wild, the fact she can sing like this, write music and play 5+ instruments. SM struck gold. No wonder YG openly admitted he regretted his company not accepting her audition.

He did a segment once of idols he "regretted" not holding on to and among them was Wendy (plus Chungha, Crush, Rain and others).

She apparently did a video audition for YG but didn't pass. It was also revealed recently that she auditioned for JYP in Canada too.

wow really? I NEVER heard that. Idols that can barely play some notes in the guitar already get more mediaplay than that, they should've promoted this more often (but then again I never really watched RV's realities or varieties appearences and when I did they made her vocals the focal point)

It was mentioned in her debut profile back in the day, but you're right they don't really mediaplay it much at all.

She can play piano, guitar, flute, recorder, saxophone and there may be more too. I thought it was fake (like Seulgi's "speciality" being Japanese... :eli:) but it turns out SM wasn't really lying as she has since been seen playing all of those instruments (except the saxophone, though I might be wrong).

She said recently that she helped compose and played the bass guitar for the OST she released recently too.

Uhh how did he not decide the result? :rip: Taeyeon is good but Wendy is literally arguably THE best vocalist we have today in Kpop :rip:

More like 1-2-3-4-5 punch with yeowoobi !!!!

In the whale is nice too but that title :rip:

That one hasn't clicked with me, the chorus is too slow, repetitive and boring.

I actually think SM should've sent RV instead, especially when they're arguably SM's biggest group in the West :chick1:  But whatever what's done is done

He couldn't decide because they both have strengths and weaknesses.

Low Notes: Wendy

belting: Taeyeon

Vocal Agility: Taeyeon

Head voice:Wendy

Wendy is the best vocalist of her generation, but several vocal coaches also mentioned that Taeyeon is a better vocalist overall thanks to her experience and healthy technique.

RV is not bigger than aespa in the west, it's just that RV has had more time to build than Fan base than aespa, obviously.

If Coachella banned all kpop groups in the future after aespa lipsync their whole performances... :soda:

This is true.

Plus lets no act as if the kwangya songs help to get them bigger in the west. Is a surprise that even Koreans actually got used to that aspect of their music and concept. :deadbanana:

Psycho and Bad Boy are actually both eligible for RIAA Gold certification in the U.S., but they can't officially award it to RV because they have no U.S. label :ace:

Yes they are??? Both Bad Boy & Psycho managed to enter US Spotify charts, despite KPOP growing 10x since then aespa haven't been able to do that at all even with them getting more push there in the past few months than RV ever got in their career. :rip:

SM really hate their old groups…

Not even a us management company for some promo?

SM is pushing these Kwangya groups but can’t with RV and exo who have the appeal to hit big in the west :bibliahh:

Bad Boy and Psycho are the best selling SM songs and exo was charting on BB200 with no promo, they were the biggest boy group after BTS, making no sense.
