This did nothing for me. All the teasers so far have been good, but the concept trailer really didn’t sell it to me.
I hope the music video will be a bigger serve than this.

Clearly their labels learned from the mess that were the post-IOI groups. The problem with them is they all came from smaller companies that had no idea what to do with their success. They put 1 or 2 girls from IOI with like 9 other girls & expected them to smash, without promoting any of the other members that weren't in IOI. Their management sucked for the most part too.

Pristin had tons of potential but then...:priceless:

IVE is the perfect example of what these companies should've done. The non-IZ*ONE girls are talented & visually appealing, they all get their fair share of solo promo, & the group is given fun, catchy bops. That's it really

That’s true, which is so odd

Nowadays it seems that KPOP is no longer marketing music but rather the individuals as a commodity for modeling/commerce so it makes sense. IVE surprised me because I thought Wonyoung would cannibalize the group but the other girls stand out still.

But I really want to know who will end up being the Sejeong of IZ*ONE. At the moment she has 2 smash dramas under her belt as the lead.

I'd think Minju since she was initially an actress, but after IZ*ONE's disbandment she's gotten 0 roles and is doing virtually nothing aside from MCing & hosting some show with Dara. The way she & Chaeyeon are the most jobless members:rip:

I lowkey think Hybe blacklisted her since she refused to join them, bc it doesn’t make sense how jobless she is!

She was the 2nd most famous one in Koria, and she can’t even book a  WEB-drama role???

I don't get the talk around this Sakura girl she doesn't scream 'main character' at all to me from what they've teased so far  :thing: She is rather funny looking too idk if the concept they are going for suits her

Sakura is an Artist who challenges herself and she worked hard to improve. This path became more and more evident since her first appearance on Produce 48, during which she realized the differences  between her skills and those of (most of) the Korean contestants..

Her aura is extremely interesting to me because it reflects a feeling that surrounds a side of Japan’s contemporary pop culture. It is undeniable that K-Pop took over J-Pop in terms of international recognition.

This mainly dynamic is (mostly) due to South Korea’s export + digital approach, factors that have been almost non existent in <most of> J-Pop, which is still a quite physical-driven industry. Things started to slightly change recently, but the gap has been there for over a decade now.

(Internationally) Japan’s pop culture, anime and manga aside, is in the shadow due to K-Pop’s takeover. As someone whose been into J-Pop for 15 years now, I strongly feel like a nice part of its industry feels a bit lost due to the whole situation. I genuinely think that Sakura is aware of this, she partially talked about how she feels “angry” about Japanese idols not as respected as Korean idols when it comes to international market and that she wants to prove that they’re great as well.

Overall, her improvement has been huge and I’m truly looking forward to see her future steps with LE SSERAFIM. Also, she has her own management when it comes to Japanese activities and, right now, there’s also a nice market gap in Japan if you look at female solo artists, I think it’s possible she might be want to challenge herself as a solo artist as well in the future.

To me, Sakura is the most interesting idol K-Pop has seen in a long time.

I find Sakura interesting too. I think she just suffers from styling choices. She can look extremely GOOD if styled right (her member reveal video) or kinda basic (this latest video). She was extremely sabotaged with her short bob in IZ*ONE. :deadbanana4: Even when she had longer pink hair, it looked flat most of the time. I swear kpop is plagued with a bunch of stylists that SHOULDN'T be stylists.

I genuinely loved her long pink hair tbh, also her long light brown style used for ZERO:ATTITUDE!

When it comes  IZ*ONE, I have only two complaints:

- Sakura could have been given bigger chances to shine in the group. Seriously.
- The group should have released at least one or two 48 anthems like Heavy Rotation.

It's weird how much they downplayed her in IZ*ONE even with her popularity. I think it all came down to her being Japanese in a Korean group (as it usually is the case with non-Korean idols). That's why i'm excited to see what she can do in a smaller 6 member group.

At the end of the day it's down to the materials

Pristin, Gugudan, Weki Weki's debut songs are like... the worst shits ever :skull: Same reason why Kep1er and NMIXX flopped hard

That’s a whole different chapter given what happened… but yeah I agree. Also I think she’ll be the leader of the group anyway, plus HYBE is actually highlighting her nationality. She literally speaks Japanese in the group’s latest teaser  :lakitu:

Urban Works (her company) managed to book one of their actors and he’s going to be in a web drama with Jo Yuri :deadbanana4:

Wait what’s the tea with the thread title? What happened between TOP and blackpink?

Hybe is blacklisting no one :bibliahh:

The girl just doesn’t have the work ethic & thats okay! An MC is a perfect job. Literally just reading some cue cards. No risk of being dragged for bad acting or bad singing/dancing.

It looks like the IZ*ONE girls will be more successful than the I.O.I girlies

Wonyoung appears to be more popular than Somi and I guess Sakura’s equivalent will be Chungha?

I mean tbf IZ*ONE had a lot more time to develop a fanbase. I.O.I had only one comeback as a full group :rip:

Top censored out blackpinks name from a headline he reposted on his story and their repulsive moronic fans bullied a legend into deleting it because they’re all insecure twats with no respect.

The nerve to attack en masse somebody with a documented history of suicidal behavior because he won’t acknowledge their overrated 0 talent favs that literally nobody from their company has a single nice thing to say about anyway.  :deadbanana4:

This is not a reach and seems very plausible

It was litterally stated that she didn’t accept Hybe offer bc she really want to pursue her career in acting. And her mc job will end soon since they change mc every year.

That's the Iland girl group from Belift, Le Sserafim is from Source Music

The I-land girlgroup is not even conceived yet. I’m just taking about lesserafim because they’re from the same company and probably worked with the same producers.

There was literally so many other posts/pictures he could have posted though. You'd think if he went through all the trouble of censoring their name, he would instead just find a pic of 2NE1 on stage (which were all over twitter by that time). TOP isn't the brightest at YG I see. :gaycat2:

He’s far from the first person with past or present ties to YG ent to refuse to acknowledge Blackpink. Maybe just accept that nobody in the industry has any respect for them and stop coming for people with real talent. :bunny:
