I mean, Shake It is not really a good song to begin with and what made it entertaining was it playing perfectly into Sistar's bimbo concept and their charismatic, tongue-in-ckeek performances.

Take those factors away and there's not much left to work with. And Loona is definitely not a group who could serve either, they literally look like a bunch of middle schoolers and not one of them has any trace of sex appeal. And I don't mean this in a shady way, it was just an unfortunate choice for them I guess.

This! The stage was so cringe for that reason...

BTW i dotn hate loona i like quite few of their songs ( i even like butterfly which the fandom tends to hate) and eclipse is one my fave songs

That loona Shake It stage is tragic.

WJSN is not that good either.

Brave Girls surprised me, I enjoyed them quite a lot despite not really dancing. (WJSN and Loona didn't serve on dancing anyway)

Next week we'll see Viviz with their sub par live vocal, and Kepler with their minimalist stage. So this season is truly Hyolin' to lose.

Is there a reason Loona didn't do Blue Moon (Hyolyn x Changmo)? One of them suggested it and it was a hit on the charts. It fits their "lunar" theme too.

To add to what everyone has said about the Shake It performance, Shake It is a very vocal forward song. The vocals and bouncy melody in the verses drive the song so breaking that up so much with skits and "acting" plus not really having someone capable of belting that last phase to give the song that added burst of energy and dynamics just made for a really flat, boring performance.

Blue Moon is one of Hyolyn's least vocally challenging songs tho I get it's probably still a reach for these girls. Also, it's a chill bop ala Loona's Butterfly. I think they could have done so much more with it and much naturally.

Last thing, I'm reading some translated articles from the original 2nd round recording and apparently someone from WJSN's voice cracked harsh in Navillera and Minyoung's voice cracked on her high note round one but Mnet cleaned it up for them. Yet Hyolyn's vocals seem pretty raw even when she is doing somersaults in the air. Is this the only way to bridge the gap?

Oh it has the same sample as Fly from Momoland.

LOONA should have chosen a less vocally challenge SISTAR song like Alone or So Cool

Like they could easily pull sth like this with Alone

100M incoming :jonny:

Also I just realized how absurd it is to consider GIDLE 4th gen. They debuted in 2018, only 4 years after MAMAMOO/Red Velvet.

3rd gen essentially started in around 2013/2014 and yall are saying a group who debuted 4-5 years after is already a new gen? :deadbanana:

2nd gen started in 2006/2007 but SISTAR/Apink etc. are not considered 3rd gen :deadbanana4:

Peak of 3rd gen is 2017-2018 with RV, BP, TWICE, MAMAMOO, GFriend, Momoland, etc. all snatching big hits. How is that the start of a new gen??????

People going to be screaming 15th gen in 2025 at this rate :lmao:

Soobin voice carcked in the second Navillera, which is funny because the online community seems to care way more than the audience that was in the actual venue because most of the present audience were praising Brave Girls performance, while the online community was trashing Minyoung for her voice crack.

But we also have in perspective that Minyoung was literally coughing her lungs out right before and right after the performance as she was still having effects of covid for her breathing.

Surprisingly it’s essentially the start of their decline despite being one of their best tracks. Their last real hit was STEP in Korea.

I swear Jaden put cracks in Loona's Butterfly or something, years later and i'm still addicted to the song, also their choreo, one of the best 4th gen kpop comeback ever:jonny4:
