Not that I am actually waiting or have any excitement left for this project but damn, she really just gave up it seems. There’s nothing going on and even if she was in a label mess she hasn’t alluded to that at all or tried to get herself out there. I think she stopped trying the moment Fair flopped and that’s ok. She should say something to the fans though it’s really a mess to be told time and time again something is coming (the album) for years and then left hanging like this

If you have been following this woman for the past 3-4 years and you can’t tell that she has a shitty team and her label doesn’t support her then you are blind as a bat. Like honestly what are y’all talking about.

Also, of course Fair did not have a chance. No video, no TTH, no radio deal. What was that supposed to do? Magically fly off the shelf over her name recognition? She’s not Taylor Swift or Beyoncé.

Also it’s clear that she was teasing CP and then it got shelved. Let’s THINK before we speak

I think she’s waiting for approvals for ??from RCA according to people in this thread and other places on the web (who’ve been proven correct in the past.)

I just don’t understand why she can’t at least post an “ugh my label ?” story or tweet

instead all we get is months of silence then this energy

You have been losing it for the last several pages so I won’t even bother with you.

I can imagine that she doesn’t want to stir up trouble behind the scenes if she starts to publicly bash RCA. I hate when this topic gets brought up because some of y’all lack discernment. It’s pretty clear that she’s having label issues. It doesn’t have to be spelled out given the history of the label she’s on and how labels in general are trash these days when it comes to new artist.

I mean, even the #1 insider WheresJay has alluded to her label issues more than once now. Still. Y’all put your own conspiracy theories and opinions before facts and just plane common sense.

I too agree that it's safer for her to not say anything about her label. Tinashe took a very long while to speak out. On the other hand, I've seen some people say that Candy Paint is on pre-production mode, art direction is set, budget apparently being cleared. So yeah, no MV has been shot yet, but if these people are right, it will probably be happening soon considering they still want to release this year. Take it with a grain of salt obviously.

Really feel sorry for her big time

Right^ There is no bigger sign than the trajectory of her career from 2019-2022. Many of us have tried to help you put 2 and 2 together. It's obvious.

I cannot believe we’re being starved of Normani content to the point where bible verses are being quoted now. Let’s NOT even go there! :toofunny3:

Normani doesn’t have a label issue with RCA lol. Why would she speak out on that when it never happened?

If she and her mom insisted as recently as a couple months ago that fans have no clue what they’re discussing, I don’t know what to say to y’all. Just making up scenarios at this point because y’all feeding into the Tinashe (or Zayn Malik) 2.0 narrative:

The truth is that the album is not released yet because it’s hot booty juice and got scrapped/reworked. They want an album of HITS not leftover SZA & Kehlani tracks (no shade to either).

Wild Side is a 10/10 to me but all the other leaks I heard were average so this could be believable. But damn she’s been recording for years so either “theory” it is, it’s all tragic.

Hear me out for a second, when I’ve heard Beyonce, Rihanna, and hell even a couple Lady Gaga demo leaks, I immediately thought those tracks could be a single or on an album.

The Normani demos so far have not made me think she missed out on dropping them. They were all so basic and some were *recently* recorded (according to atrl and twitter insiders). So, I’m starting to believe maybe the album really was not eating and RCA told her to run it back one more time (which is why Normani isn’t mad with them since they’re actually invested in the album doing well still).

Yeah there wasn’t a single one I cared for but they weren’t horrible (CP aside which I loved). Fair coming out after WS also lends this idea some credibility because that was B side/album cut material at best and she did go back to the studio with Starrah. Again she doesn’t have to trash the label but i don’t think it’s too much to ask that she shed a little light on what the situation is

Normani’s throwaway tracks should sound like throwaway tracks. This girl has recorded albums worth of music and we’ve only heard probably less than 1% of it. Including leaks. Who knows how many songs that were in her possession that got snatched up by other artist because she sat on them too long. I only know of two, but there could be more than that.

In the case of CP, RCA waiting so long to green light that track is weird. They didn’t even want her to release WS, remember? And, if I’m not mistaken (and I could be), but they were the ones that wanted to get behind DUI over CP according to the info we got in here. So, why are we all of a sudden acting like they have actual taste? They should’ve released the album or an EP and let us decide what was good and what was not. Not continue to scrap album after album because they don’t know what people actually want to hear.

This is Lesbian by Candice Boyd. How Normani got attached to this I don’t know. It doesn’t seem like a version of hers exists.

It’s really weird to assume she doesn’t have label issues, but it needs to be understood that when some of us say “label issue” we mean exactly what you guys are talking about. Them telling her to go back to the drawing board, not getting approval to anything, short budget, etc. These are label issues, not that they necessarily fight one another or Normani is deeply sad with the situation. Think of Chloe, she’s going through label issues too.

I do think they’re still stupid for doing this. Making an artist try so many times at doing something, is completely useless and actually hurts whatever creative process they have. Doesn’t give them room to grow and develop their artistry.

Normani should’ve been getting her second album out (and I mean an EP AND debut album should’ve happened long ago). And then from that starting point, develop a more credible body of work. I def don’t put the fault at Normani 100% for being so perfectionist, even though her label probably is to blame for that partially too. Fact is labels nowadays do not want to invest in this (artist development) because unfortunately money speaks way louder, and losing money, is def a no to them. In this industry, you need to take risks, or else you won’t have a chance at striking something right.
