There is still plenty of Lee in the movie. WE WON. Now that it's not performing as great as we wanted, we are sticking with the "Gaga is a small extra in this film" narrative sis 26

I just know Billboard is going to change the Hot 100 rules to demote radio in a few months when DWAS' momentum is long over.

nokiki Posted September 12 Posted September 12 I've been wondering, where does that "87% liked this film" come from when you google it? Maybe it's just getting mixed up with the first film? But when you click Reviews you only get the usual J:FAD IGN/RT/MC. The IGN review's conclusion is so... Spoiler "Unfortunately, the DC sequel gets bogged down by a lengthy courtroom saga, which not only keeps the dazzling Lady Gaga away from the spotlight, but centers the movie entirely around its own predecessor, without doing or saying anything new."
Baby Judas Posted September 12 Posted September 12 When DWAS, Gaga-Weeknd and Gaga-Chappell are all fighting for #1 on Global Spotify, then what? Spoiler while LG7 lead is struggling to stay inside the Top 50 after its first week.

Miley with Flowers could not do it. So , yeah i think so. It's also a precedented for Bruno. He reached 100m listeners with just one song.

It's giving Misa Misa from Death Note Which would actually kinda be a slay 4
IBeMe Posted September 12 Posted September 12 Why does Joaquin's Arthur Fleck / Joker laugh this time around feel and sound annoying AF instead of sinister or sad / pitiful? He's winging it this time around tbh Gaga will outshine him

eclipsed Posted September 12 Posted September 12 70m would be an amazing opening and who knows it might even grow more, I think 100M bar was a bit ridiculous, the first didn't even crack that. It's an r rated sequel and a musical. Plus the og had a lot of controversy drawing people to the theatre this one doesn't have that. Would make it 7th biggest opening in the month of October. 1

WE WON. ok, but this is lowkey giving damage control because almost every critic so far has said her character needed more attention. she could absolutely have a full character arc where the audience essentially sees her story to completion while still feeling underdeveloped. Imagine her being in 50 minutes of the film but 35 of those minutes are Lee standing in the background with Joker. But I want to be proven wrong 1

I don't think it's bad at all for a rated R musical plus the article says some predicting 90m still so it could go up

You added Lady Gaga and there was so much hype on the first trailer, that 100M predictions seems reasonable.. but then the awful reviews happened. 1
