Kimi Posted July 25 Posted July 25 3 minutes ago, Miracle said: You are clearly the one with the problem here: Gaga's jazz performances are extremely artistic: her moves, voice, piano skills, they all exude art and impossible-to-train artistic skills, they show her gift. It's not a tribute. Some of the most important artists of all time have only sang songs made by them or traditional standards There's more art in the way Gaga sings, breathes and exists within her band than you'll ever produce - by far. I disagree, her show tunes are cute entertainment but hardly ever more than that. Some of the most important people of the past, back when this kind of music was relevant and unique, became great artists. But they did so by doing things that have never been done before, and they already did them. Modern jazz is completly different from what shes doing. Thats the point. Her jazz music has yet to recieve any real attention from jazz world. And thats okay, i have no problem with her doing her little covers, what i have problem with are stans who get pretentious. Thats who im ranting against. 1 5 1

Daglazzo Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Hopefully she serves chromatica at tomorrow's night cause clearly some of you still haven't learnt kindness 4
Almodusa Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I hope we still get character posters for this, so we can add to this cvnty collection 3
Daglazzo Posted July 25 Posted July 25 No but I'm getting a bit worried that they still didn't announce her nor she did say anything
Spicy Pisces Posted July 25 Posted July 25 12 minutes ago, Kimi said: I have to write this cause yall piss me offid say there are 3 groups of liddos, stans of a star, artist and a celebrity. Whats confusing is that her commercial peak is also her artistic peak so stans of an artist get mixed up with stans of a star. Something like vegas show tunes or conservative Olympics performance might be exciting for stans of a star and a celebrity but from an artistic standpoint, thats nothing. And Im writing not to destroy your joy, be happy, sure, shes gonna get a lot of publicity, but because I cant stand those pretentious and actually uneducated liddos who confuse conservative, traditional music with growth and maturity and try to present themselves as sophisticated. Singing a traditional song in a traditional way is just a tribute, and thats fine but lets call a spade a spade. idk but I think there's no need to deconstruct the way stans love Gaga like this, and be put into categories. It's not that deep and it's much simpler than how you put it. I've been around since 2008 and I didn't keep up with her gigs during both the ARTPOP and Joanne eras but I always stuck around somehow. At least Gaga has the range and can offer a variety of things for us to occasionally hop in and out with what is going on with her, whether is makeup, jazz, film, pop. Some people make the Olympic performance a big thing, others do so about Joker. To each their own. She's a versatile artist, so why can't we be vers. 1
Chaos Angel Posted July 25 Posted July 25 After Gaga's contract with Interscope is up she should release an experimental non-pop album, preferably rock. She's too talented to keep releasing pop albums (& no BTW isn't "rock" & Joanne isn't "country"). She can do it under a different name for all I care. It will flop and alienate fans but it's necessary for someone of her talent level. 1 3 1
Infernal Paradise Posted July 25 Posted July 25 The fact that she had to go against her conditioning as a classically trained vocalist to produce off key notes while singing is INSANE. The commitment GIVE THAT DAMN OSCAR TO HER NOW!!

But I agree with your point, and I hope LG7 isn't just "pop" but she brings something unique and experimental. Something like what RoL was to Madonna back in 1999 Edited July 25 by ToniGaga96

Almodusa Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Since Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album is no longer in the Pop field, I wonder how support will shift since it's now in a field with jazz, contemporary instrumental, and musical theater categories if she releases her own jazz album.

sunbathinganimal Posted July 25 Posted July 25 a feature on a contemporary jazz artist's song would actually be a great way to dip her toe in but we know she's allergic to being on other people's songs so 2
tost1 Posted July 25 Posted July 25 44 minutes ago, Almodusa said: For Gaga, the film's song-and-dance numbers required a recalibration of her vocal talents. "People know me by my stage name, Lady Gaga, right? That's me as that performer, but that is not what this movie is; I'm playing a character. So I worked a lot on the way that I sang to come from Lee, and to not come from me as a performer," she tells Empire in the world-exclusive Joker: Folie À Deux cover feature. And given how Phillips' film integrates music into its milieu, Gaga had to follow suit. "How do you take music and have it just be an extension of the dialogue, as opposed to breaking into song for no conceivable reason?" she asks. "It was unlike anything I've ever done before." As a result, you're about to hear a very different side to the Lady Gaga you know. "For me, there's plenty of bum notes, actually, from Lee," she laughs of her singing in the film. "I'm a trained singer, right? So even my breathing was different when I sang as Lee. When I breathe to sing on stage, I have this very controlled way to make sure that I'm on pitch and it's sustained at the right rhythm and amount of time, but Lee would never know how to do any of that. So it's like removing the technicality of the whole thing, removing my perceived art-form from it all and completely being inside of who she is." In Gaga's hands, get ready for an all-new take on a fan-favourite character – one who's thrived in Batman: The Animated Series, comic books, the DCEU, and her own animated comedy. Lee is both the Harley Quinn you know, and one you really don't. "While there are some things that people would find familiar in her, it's really Gaga's own interpretation, and Scott [Silver, co-writer] and I's interpretation," explains Phillips. "She became the way how [Charles] Manson had girls that idolised him. The way that sometimes these [imprisoned murderers] have people that look up to them. There are things about Harley in the movie that were taken from the comic books, but we took it and moulded it to the way we wanted it to be." Prepare for a performance that's totally Gaga. It's starting i live for her pretentiousness
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted July 25 Posted July 25 Omg not us getting inspired by the election and now we are divided into parties.
Aden Posted July 25 Posted July 25 I haven't even thought about how the performance will impact her streams. ARUTW 8 billion streams on Friday?
