Aden Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Y'all act like she's a washed up hasbeen who has been in the industry for 40 years but she wouldn't be signing up for a large project like JFAD and chase a Best Actress Oscar if she wasn't hungry for SOME huge success. Many before her have started families and simultaneously continued their careers, with motherhood often resulting in fantastic creative work (Adele and Madonna). It's lowkey presumptive (and sexist) to assume that she wants to slow down in motherhood when that might not be the case at all. Last year was the first time she had a real career hiatus out of the public eye. The idea that wanting to start a family = wanting to end your music career feels a little premature. In conclusion, learn to appreciate releases from other artists in between albums.

I also doubt Debut will be as big as other TVs. It’s time for other artists to challenge her, because I’m sure the GP is getting tired of her. 2
Hurem Posted February 13 Posted February 13 3 minutes ago, CoolNebraskaGuy said: Someone pointed it out earlier, but many of the pop stars that released in 2020 are just releasing their next album this year. Dua, Gaga and Taylor were the only A-listers who released albums in 2020. Dua had a huge era that went on for 3 years, and Taylor released three albums since then. There is Selena Gomez too, but she's more of a makeup girl than a pop star anyways.

We even had AHS in between ARTPOP and Joanne but now we’ll have two movies in between Chromatica and LG7 so it’s clear where Gaga is heading towards to which is not terrible I guess. 2?

Aden Posted February 13 Posted February 13 (edited) I actually think her, and other artists, releasing in 2024 is a good thing because there's a clear gap in female pop that needs to be filled. I know people are sick of Taylor and Beyonce sucking up all the oxygen, and even the public is starting to take note of Taylor's overexposure. I've always theorized that her silence has been soooo enduring because when she announces, she's going to smack us with a crap ton of content, and we're all going to eat our words. GraceRandolph Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Unfortunately in the algorithm based streaming market frequent releases are kind of necessary. The news cycle moves faster than ever. A year old album in 2010 still seemed current, but today a year old album is old news and everyone interested in hearing it has heard it. Long breaks just don’t work anymore. Even Adele suffered a lot after her last break. 2 1

But Ari released albums in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020, so this is the first time she took a break after becoming an A-lister. Not to mention dozens and dozens of her material that leaked over the years that kept her fans fed dd

The Sphere has the reverse problem where instead of one or two sections that get a worse show, there's only one section that gets a good show. This is a pretty ridiculous thing to drag on about when we're talking about the woman who will set up 7 stages, build record length catwalks, or literally get harnessed and fly up to give a better view to people in the back, which was my original point. Sorry you had a poor experience at your first date. What exactly are you attempting to defend... 1

I think it's also worth including HMH in the mix- even if it didn't smash it did get an Oscar nod and she made waves at the Academy Awards last year. You bring up a good point though. Part of me thinks that between her relatively low volume of output and the underwhelming nature of Chromatica's rollout that her next release could do pretty... unimpressive numbers. I am not a success stan- but if she's going to really have the rebirth so many of her fans want for her, she's going to have to fire on all cylinders, and a lot of things are going to need to go right. It's not a question for me that Gaga has the talents and ability to achieve that kind of 'return to form', but I honestly don't think her team is capable of coordinating that kind of era. I'd love to be proven wrong though! Edited February 13 by CoolNebraskaGuy
GGD Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Enigma 2.0 should have at least these songs; Her Singles PokerFace Just Dance Paparazzi Telephone Bad Romance Alejandro Born This Way Marry The Night Bloody Mary Stupid Love (She can skip this at Enigma and perform it again at Jazz & Piano 3.0) Ballads & Piano TEOG Millon Reasons Shallow ARUTW Deep Cuts Enigma Replay Fashion! +3 LG7 Songs 1
Miracle Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Not y'all putting Beyoncé on the same level as Taylor Swift in dominating - The Fame IS higher on the BB200 than Renaissance. ROM was as big if not bigger than any Beyoncé song since Telephone. Beyoncé debuted at #4 on Spotify with a 43M Super Bowl ad. Stop understimating Gaga. Gaga's about to have a bigger era than any Beyoncé era just with Joker releasing this October. 4 1

Stupid Love can go though Edited February 13 by SinnerCity
