Aden Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I wonder if she'll announce the LG7 lead with a snippet like she did with Perfect Illusion.

sunbathinganimal Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I have a feeling the LG7 lead will serve Houdini (in performance not sound). Can see it doing badly in the US and solidly in Europe. I think it will be received really well by critics and fans though
Dad Posted January 23 Posted January 23 I wonder what she is cooking for us, hopefully some experimental music

Vroom Vroom Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Every single day we should praise Shallow/ASIB for saving Gaga’s career Who knows where we would be now if Shallow didn’t smash 3 2
Bojana Posted January 23 Posted January 23 yes we should praise Gaga for writing and producing Shallow and I don't think we give her enough praise for production 11 1

Hopefully this time around her label is actually smart and picks an undeniable smash for the lead single.
Aston Martin Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Imagine going back to 2014 and telling this base that Gaga gets another diamond #1 smash in a few years, but it's a country-rock ballad and it wins her an Oscar. And it's not her last number one hit either. It's probably going to end up as her second-biggest hit in the US and will remain as her 2nd biggest hit WW (after Poker Face). 3
dawnettakins Posted January 23 Posted January 23 Bad Romance the iconic flop that will always be #2 wbk Poker Face the iconic HIT that will always be #1.
Aden Posted January 23 Posted January 23 It's funny how stan brained fomos try to claim Gaga peaked with her first few albums when ASIB/Shallow happened 10+ years into her career and was a bigger commercial era than anything released since bar Taylor's re-releases. 1
MadMax12 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 ARUTW could have extended her re-peak and been a solo smash if pushed as a single. But oh well.. 1 1

Some of the OGHs on here truly put more effort into hating Gaga than they do appreciating their favorite artists. It's a bizarre phenomenon that speaks to Gaga's undeniable and provoking aura within the popular culture. Even her haters can't stop talking about her. 2

It's not the end of the world. It's just a golden statue. We don't need a golden statue to prove that she is a successful respected actress. The box office numbers are more than enough to prove she is a household name that's guaranteed to draw in numbers. Her talent/craft speak for itself. I hope ya'll don't go ripping Joker 2 apart if she doesn't get nominated or even an oscar like you guys did with HOG. My main goal with her for Joker 2 is to have another highly acclaimed performance, It's a lot more important for her to do this this time because a lot of people are going to watch Joker 2 and she's going to have a lot of eyes and ears on her. People appreciating her performance this time is a lot more important than any award.

It's funny how hard they try in moving the goal post for Gaga. You didn't hear about "SoLo sMaShEs!!!" until Rain on Me smashed. And suddenly her Oscar win doesn't count because it's a music Oscar. Wonder what dumb metric they'll come up with next. 1 hour ago, MadMax12 said: ARUTW could have extended her re-peak and been a solo smash if pushed as a single. But oh well.. It's a solo smash. It's the highest streamed solo song by a female artist on Spotify that wasn't released as a single. It also outstreamed or is on par with recent hits like Cuff It and Anti-Hero. A certified SMASH. 2
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) Always Remember Us this Way could have been much bigger than what it already is. It could enter her top 5 biggest songs if it was pushed as an official single. But oh well. The fact that people just use it because it's good. She never shoved it down the GP's throat with that song. It was so organic. Edited January 23 by duybeeGAshantiGA 1

She never shoved it down the GP's throat with that song. It was so organic. The crazy thing is that it still could eventually end up as one of her top 5 biggest songs despite never getting a worldwide release (though I don't think it'll ever surpass her "big four" hits). It's had great longevity. But I get what you mean, had it been released as a single in March-April 2019, it could easily be sitting at 2 billion Spotify streams right now. Hell, it probably would've pushed ASIB past BTW in terms of album units WW to become her second largest era. I really hope she comes out with a song on the same level of ARUTW and actually gives it the push it deserves, regardless of genre. Andrew Watt did co-write and co-produce Angels Like You which is another outstanding song that organically does great numbers because of its quality. So that gives me some hope. 1
Artur Posted January 23 Posted January 23 (edited) I wonder if she will ever get another 'organic' smash like Always Remember Oscars This Way. Most albums nowadays have one or two songs that start rising naturally and end up being singles after the album release. I hope something like this happens with LG7. It's interesting because nothing from Chroma really picked up in streams after the album release (probably because of the circumstances, but still). They tried pushing Free Woman a bit, but it didn't really work. Edit. Actually, Sour Candy was doing great. Edited January 23 by Artur
MadMax12 Posted January 23 Posted January 23 It would be cool if they incorporate the lead single into the Joker trailer to build hype like they did with Shallow, and that made it smash. Or the second or third single and make it a soundtrack for the movie
