Kimi Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 (edited) We got merch little guy vinyl and leaks which is more than i expected tbh, I will say it again: artpop is not (yet) considered her essential album so she's not gonna throw a huge celebration for it's 10th anniversary. Let's just listen to artpop, watch amazing live performances we got that era and look towards the future. She's not a legacy act lol, LG7 and Joker soundtrack are coming. They're original songs literally categorized under the artist Lady Gaga. Are they not comparable because they happen to be attached to a movie? What difference does it make if the songs clicked with the public via a movie, whereas songs like Bad Romance clicked with the public via a music video or radio? ASIB is a Lady Gaga era and a smash Lady Gaga album with several smash Lady Gaga songs that served smash longevity. EDIT: Not to forget ASIB songs are consistently performed at mainstream talent shows along songs like Million Reasons and Yoü and I. They're Lady Gaga material period. I believe you’re confused. No one said it’s not Lady Gaga’s material. It very much is, these are her songs. It is her success. We should be proud of it and of the numbers it’s achieving. However this is not a studio album and has an extreme push in the form of a very successful and acclaimed movie that is loved by everyone and their moms. People are going back to those songs because of it and because they are very high quality. This is a phenomenon. ASIB movie and music was a perfect storm for Gaga and I can’t see anyone being as successful with their respective soundtracks simply because they’re lacking enough talent, charisma, acting skills, singing, composing, playing instruments. She was perfect for this and the soundtrack’s success is the best proof of it. None of her albums had that kind of push and didn’t reach as many people as ASIB. zoldyck Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 The point I was trying to make was Gaga has longevity up until ARTPOP i.e until pop radios were willing to play her (She never was Katy/Rihanna) but she was still decently played on radios. These radios are ageist, they even stopped playing Katy. So comparing longevity of songs from young artist to artist who are in 6th/7th era make zero sense.
The Witch Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I have a question, why would she celebrate an album/era that almost ended her career? Y'all need to MOVE ON. Let Ga Ga have some fun with Leo and get inspired to write a Hollywood themed album

Sadly, I’m not surprised you did put it. Oh well. Regarding HMH - imo that song would be out of her top 50 faster than SL tumbled off the charts if not for Top Gun, guess we’ll never know.

Album Leak Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 (edited) ARTPOP has the kind of cult-like following none of her other albums have. It might not be one of her best albums, but the entire era has left a big impression, in good and in bad. I think as an artist, one would want to reclaim that, or at least acknowledge the passionate following it has. Joanne and Chromatica will never have the cult-like following ARTPOP has, and nobody is going to expect Gaga to celebrate their 10th year anniversaries outside of a merch drop. ARTPOP is special, that is a fact, so it's a bummer it didn't get a bigger nod from Gaga for it's 10th year anniversary. But it is what it is. I appreciate the photoshoot leak, at least. perfectillusion204 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 We all know ARTPOP was one of Gaga’s lowest points in her life/career. She probably has PTSD & triggers from that time period. Idk why anyone thought she was gonna go all out and relive all those memories and pain. Yes we wanted her to do something more for the anniversary, but that was never going to be the reality. Imagine if everyone was constantly talking about the darkest time period of your life & wanting more from it. That’s probably what it’s like to have thousands of fans begging for ARTPOP content.
Leptine Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I am a huge 'ARTPOP' supporter, I've always defended that era in here, but at the same time if she didn't want to make a post about it or release an anniversary thing related to that, it's not big deal, it's the past at the end. It's been 3 years and half since her last album, a new project has the priority right now. 3
Abracadabra Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 I just don't get why it's such a big deal if she tweeted about the anniversary or not, like does it change your life in anyway if she cares that an album came out ten years ago, to her it's Just Another Day I also don't know why liddos act like it's the norm for re-releases on a tenth anniversary, it happens for some albums but most don't get that kind of treatment. 8
