I still stand by and say that Joanne was her last true pop era. She was passionate about the music, she promoted the hell out of the album. It wasn't like she was only performing Million Reasons. She did Ayo, John Wayne and Perfect Illusion during the Japan promo, SNL and victoria secret show as well as the dive bar tour. Joanne may have been a jarring shift for a lot of fans but she was still the usual Gaga passionate about her art and music. I do think the tour ending due to her bad fibro flareup tainted the era for her. That's when I noticed the shift. She was living her best pop star life during the joanne world tour and I think the fibro attack discouraged her from going above and beyond with her pop career. It seems like Artpop, Joanne and Chromatica have all been traumatic for her and I'm just hoping this next era she is in a much better and happier headspace. Judging by her energy lately it seems like she is more happier and relaxed than she's ever been.

Now that she's for sure not doing anything until 2024, should we rank Thanksgiving specials?

Gaga's team surely is like we can't release Chromatica Ball film in those upcoming weeks because of Renaissance's and Era's ones :dead:

even Katy's PLAY will be released on Apple sooner :bibliahh:

Adele also has plans to make her residency film. So yeah she could have been the first doing it, and she'll end the last (or not even releasing it)

A lot of monsters don’t count Joanne for whatever reason lol the ARTPOPPERS say they have a connection with ARTPOP as it was Gaga as they once knew her.ut also promotion has changed massively, they say chromatica wasn’t a true era but it had two collabs on TTH she had to go out and promote Joanne not just for commercial but also due to changing her image (and it ended Katy eventually after Katy ended her during prism)

This ARTPOP demo has 2013 written all over it :rip:

I don't think it would've been a bad addition if the verses were reworked

I'm sure she would've had Zedd add some harsher synths to give it that GodGA sound too

Yup. This version is maybe too conventionally good for ARTPOP, only "musical monsters" have been validated, maybe that's why Brooklyn Nights isn't there...

Honestly Gaga fans coming for any other pop girls second day drop is funny judging Gaga's longevity when it's about keeping hype alive about her own stuff.

We should be blessed if Gaga is doing Dua's second day debuting her next lead single.

second day of stupid love was on par with houdini, and stupid love was dragged through hell.

This don't justify monsters dragging Dua but my problem is why we are acting like Gaga had some longevity issue, her hits had staying power on charts until Perfect Illusion. Even Applause spent like 14 weeks inside top 10 of hot100. She had a solid run between JD-DWUW, and only song that can be called frontloaded during that run was Judas (even that now has respectable recurrent streams).

Like Dua fans would be blessed if she is still serving numbers for her 8th era, even if the numbers happened to frontloaded.

Gaga has a longevity issue with her pop it’s true.
She was
transitioned to streaming using the Joanne/ASIB route where it’s not the focus on pop, radio tone, and the songs are made to not reflect the sound of the time = more timeless. Bey’s 2022 songs are now also pulling a Chroma.

Dua doesn’t have a base, but it works to her advantage too. The second and third days for SL and PI is pretty much a game over. The second day for Dua is not - growth can still happen as she’s still hot commodity. Gaga’s last time like that was with DWYW.

literally that what said she had great run from JD-DWUW, fans here act like she have been frontloaded from the very beginning.

Even now its depend on the quality of song

PI (frontloaded)

MR (unstable run, but ended up having great recurrent streams)

Cure (moderate debut and longevity for droplet)

Shallow (literally a classic)

ARUTW (again great longevity without being pushed)

SL (frontloaded)

ROM (frontloaded)

HMH (moderate run for push it got)

And I honesty believe ROM would have fared better if not covid closing clubs and restricting her doing promos.

We really can’t compare Shallow/ARUTW/ASIB songs to her studio albums songs.

Hold My Hand was an underperformance, it didn't have a moderate run. It was the song of the biggest movie of the year and it peaked only at #49 + charted for only 10 weeks.

Why not?

They're Lady Gaga songs. They're original songs literally categorized under the artist Lady Gaga. Are they not comparable because they happen to be attached to a movie? What difference does it make if the songs clicked with the public via a movie, whereas songs like Bad Romance clicked with the public via a music video or radio?

ASIB is a Lady Gaga era and a smash Lady Gaga album with several smash Lady Gaga songs that served smash longevity.

EDIT: Not to forget ASIB songs are consistently performed at mainstream talent shows along songs like Million Reasons and Yoü and I. They're Lady Gaga material period.

Because then it would make Chromatica look even worse hihi

Million Reasons ,Hold My Hand, and Rain On Me (w/ Ariana Grande) all ended up next to each other in her top 16. ARTPOP, Joanne and Chromatica had similar chartruns, units, and in the latter two case certs. She’s clearly found a natural commercial output and ASIB was different. It had two fantastic written ballads with smash film behind them.

Avatar 2 made most of its gross in 2023, which makes Top Gun: Maverick the highest grossing movie in 2022.
