Yeah, I really think a genre switchup on LG7 will be a disaster for the fanbase tbh.

There will be tears.

6 HOURS LEFT …. I’M READY

Joanne still had some pop sounding songs, and the meltdowns from the base and the lashings and hate from ATRL at large were palpable. ATRL would rather get a decent pop album from Gaga than a decent rock album.

Can we at least 'save' our lazy asses with 1M streams on Spotify first day or that's too much to ask for? Knowing us it'll do like her jazz covers numbers

I wouldn't count on that at all, better not having expectations.

Rain On Me on its way out of her top 10 popular on Spotify even before hitting 1B chile

People act like Applause is some beloved song when it’s never in Gaga’s top 5 on Spotify.

I’d take a switch rather than something as soulless as Chromatica…

I don’t know what you guys find soulless about Chromatica. Alice, 911, 1000 Doves, Rain on Me, and even the pop bangers like Plastic Doll and Sour Candy are well executed and the lyrics are some of her most honest. Even the interludes feel thoughtful.

I have a feeling that after SSOH liddos might not be as open to a rock album.

Liddos will complain no matter what except if the album is an undeniable SMASH or it receives NFR!/Melodrama levels of acclaim and 21/25/folklore level of awards. As for the first case, we have no clue what would smash, no one expected ASIB to smash but it did and no one expected her return to dance pop after ASIB would receive a lukewarm reception but it did. For the second case, a rock album (hopefully more towards glam rock), if done well, can bring Gags acclaim and awards success given that her voice already fits the genre very well, its a genre she has been inspired by so much (Bowie, Prince, Rolling Stones, etc among her idols), and her dramatic ass fits the overall rock star vibes more than it does for pop star. She has a genuine shot at creating a (glam) rock masterpiece.

I wish Gaga would release Oh Well officially someway eventually. Maybe on a 20th anniversary edition of The Fame, but since F*sari is involved I doubt it.

He’s trolling yet again or has no idea what he’s talking about, maybe both? Chromatica is a pretty soulful record, just as you’ve said it.

Honestly the Chromatica hate is just ridiculous. If the era had smashed this base would praise it so much, but because of the era being impacted so much by the pandemic and the singles not connecting with the gp it gets so much hate.

Exactly. They always hate her most recent records for whatever reason. It’s ridiculous indeed.

Anyway, imo all Gaga records are soulful, even Joanne and ARTPOP. I love them all for this.

ASIB gets praised because it smashed. If it would’ve flopped I think this base would rank it last in album rankings tbh, or just above the jazz albums.

it's ok if Chromatica didn't connect with people, it missed a spot... great if you loved it, I didn't hate it but I always kii at people trying to find excuses for it underperforming... we already been there, first week numbers on Spotify showed it... people simply didn't like it

do I bop to it? yes

did I absolutely have the time of my life at the tour? yes!

did I hate pretty much all videos from that era minus 911? yes

do I think she could have done better than those 2 minute songs? yes

is it her worst album? def not! it's still listenable after 3 years... and most songs blend well and the interludes are breathtaking and a few album tracks are really highlights in her discography (Replay, Babylon, 911)

Last time I checked Chrome doesn’t have an ITA?, ARUTW, or LWIF so let’s not go there

Ready for the upcoming meltdowns, the tension (stream it on Spotify) has been in the air since days.

Chromatica has Replay, 911, Alice, ROM all of which places this record in her top 2 for me.

They’re not open at all, some of them think rock music is what Miley does, which is not most of the time.

Little Rocksters were expecting a dad-rock song like Shallow and some of them are annoyed about the "gospel" word and the faint piano.

Chromatica wasn’t on trend really. The production style was more classic Gaga or eurodance, which isn’t the same as the style of disco infused music that Dua and The Weeknd succeeded with. Gaga music also generally doesn’t connect with people unless it’s tied to a cultural event.

I try to see everyone arguments but I really find it hard to see from the POV ‘party PopGa and nothing else ors we will cry or be toxic!!’ when she left being that kind of artist ten years ago. If you love Gaga enough you can love jazz too and other genres. My taste grew with her and she introduced me to new things
