I am more excited for her acting career than her music, but it is just because I have found interest in other types of music. If you have convinced yourself that she is not excited about pop music anymore then you feeling this way makes sense. But you should know that is a narrative that she has never confirmed and is fully and wholly a stan narrative because she did not promote Chromatica during a global pandemic.

Chromatica is actually a good concept album and one of her most cohesive projects. Y’all do too much on that album bc the pandemic effected its rollout lol.

Not to mention it was the "dance bops" her fanbase spent nearly a decade begging for. I do not know what it is about this fanbase, but most of the people's brains are rotted to the point of not being able to enjoy something unless it is #1 for ten weeks.

Yea it was foul and frustrating bc Gaga is one of those artists the music blossoms more on stage to fully grasp her vision behind the song.

One of the biggest issues since ARTPOP is Gaga and Monsters clashing on her career direction. She clearly wants to be taken more seriously and become an all around versatile entertainer, therefore music isn’t her sole passion anymore bc she made a name for herself in that realm. So I believe every other era she gonna do something she loves (i.e. Joanne/Jazz) then something she thinks Monsters would love (i.e. Chromatica) the next era. 
 

Certain Monsters need to accept she never been a huge commercial marketing artist churning out hit after hit – that’s never been her brand. She hit the jackpot early in her career by being different and wanting different to be normal. Personally I like to see her still do pop + score a hit but in an authentic way that’s still GAGA but a mature version that makes her happy and not trying to pander to everyone.

Yeah I think it’s safe to say that if there was any doubt before the strike almost guarantees Gaga will be keeping a low profile for the rest of the year.

 

2024 - 2025 is where her chips are stacked, both with Joker and whatever her next musical projects are. Good luck to this Base’s collective sanity in the meantime

No it basically ensures that her snob/movie fans are on HOLD/SCRAPPED and she can record and release music since she's literally not allowed to do anything else. Thank you Fran Drescher!

I agree with you both. She lost her magic after 2013. ASIB was her best effort with some career highlights, but her own studio albums are lacking something.

Yeah, a lot of them still treat her like she is a new artist who needs to be everywhere at all times. They also claim she has "lost her magic" but still dedicate hours every day talking about her on a forum so things are not making much sense here.  No other fanbase writes their own fave off because they did not like a singular album. It is a good thing she is focusing on her career the way she wants to.

I don't think the problem is the music itself, but the entire era "experience". Either by her team and her own fault, or by things they couldn't control, Gaga's last 3 eras were a mess. Last minute changes, rushed moments and unplanned situations.

 

ARTPOP, Joanne and Chromatica could've been so much bigger with better single choices, more visuals, performances, etc. Yeah, the albums have a couple of really bad songs, but also some of her best.

Eh, I don't really care about the era experience anymore. Even the new girls aren't doing proper eras anymore. Streaming has ruined that.

 

My big issue with Chromatica was that the music, mainly the production, was subpar. It lacked the soul and creativity from her previous projects. It felt like she was performing Gaga to shut fans up rather than making the music she actually wanted to make. I don't want producers forcing her to go to the studio; I want her to make an album because she's passionate and wants to make it.

2024 - 2025 is when we would most likely see the results of anything she records this year like I said especially with a strike ongoing. It would be a win if she decides to continue working on music past whatever the secret project is — having a side project, a soundtrack and LG7 all lined up is a concept I can get behind.
