I think it could have done a little better with a better opening track. You can see how a lot of people listened to that and then gave up. I like this album but if she was gonna go to the effort of re-recording all these songs it should have sounded more like what she did on The Joker and World On A String. A fresher take on old classic songs. 4

Like I already knew that you need to hear several times a song/album to "grow" but with Harlequin it's even more pronounced for me. I'm on my 3-4th listen and I feel like I'm listening to a whole different album. I love most of the songs, I sing along, and they don't even feel like jazz anymore, they changed genres it's weird. Like half of the album just plain pop with slight jazz influences, for me. 2
