Daglazzo Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Call me insane but I believe she's going to perform new single. She wouldn't make it such a secret if it's cover or any jazz song from joker. Also who cares about it being in France it's literally the world event. France is only hosting. 1 4

Almodusa Posted July 23 Posted July 23 YouTube description Quote From acclaimed writer/director/producer Todd Phillips comes "Joker: Folie À Deux," the much-anticipated follow-up to 2019's Academy Award-winning "Joker," which earned more than $1 billion at the global box office and remains the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. The new film stars Joaquin Phoenix once again in his Oscar-winning dual role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, opposite Oscar winner Lady Gaga ("A Star Is Born"). "Joker: Folie À Deux" finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that's always been inside him. The film also stars Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson ("The Banshees of Inisherin") and Catherine Keener ("Get Out," "Capote"), alongside Zazie Beetz, reprising her role from "Joker." Phillips, who was nominated for Oscars for directing, writing and producing "Joker," directed "Joker: Folie À Deux" from a screenplay by fellow Oscar nominee Scott Silver & Phillips, based on characters from DC. The film was produced by Phillips, Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff and Joseph Garner. Lady Gaga served as music consultant. The film's executive producers are Michael E. Uslan, Georgia Kacandes, Silver, Mark Friedberg and Jason Ruder. Working with Phillips behind the camera are his team from "Joker," including Oscar-nominated director of photography Lawrence Sher, production designer Mark Friedberg, Oscar-nominated editor Jeff Groth, and composer Hildur Guđnadóttir, who won the Oscar for her work on the first film. New to the team is Oscar-nominated costume designer Arianne Phillips ("Once Upon a Time in… Hollywood," "Don't Worry Darling"). Ruder is the film's executive music producer and the music supervisors are Randall Poster and George Drakoulias. Casting is by Francine Maisler (the "Dune" films, "Challengers"). Warner Bros. Pictures Presents A Joint Effort Production, A Film by Todd Phillips, "Joker: Folie À Deux." The film will be released worldwide by Warner Bros. Pictures, and will be only in theaters nationwide on October 4, 2024, and beginning internationally on 2 October, 2024.
TrymeB Posted July 23 Posted July 23 Call me deranged but after seeing the trailer, I feel they are actively trying to diminish Gaga's contribution to JFad to make JP the sole STAR of the film and make others as supporting characters of which Gaga is the main. (Reading the YT description confirmed this feeling I had after watching the trailer). Maybe the teaser made someone insecure about how much Gaga stole the spotlight? 1

Most studios don't have stan mentality and don't do it in normal cases. Look at biggest winner of past 2 winners, EEAAO and Oppenheimer both had multiple actors fighting for Oscars. They are all in same boat, everyone chances goes up when everything is top notched from lead actors, supporting actors, score, editing, pacing etc. One of the main reason why Gaga missed HOG nomination, because even though she was stellar rest of movie sandbagged her. 1

She's going to blow your mind," Maisler said. "I didn't suggest Lady Gaga. It wasn't my idea. That was Todd Phillips, before me. But I will tell you, she's really surprising — and really good. I saw it and I was really surprised. I mean, we all knew what she could do in 'A Star Is Born,' but I thought, 'Oh, well, that's kind of in her wheelhouse.' Something she could do and just be real. But this… Man, she's good." "Joaquin blows your mind, but that she could keep up with him, and be real — and not just wiped off the screen by what that role is and what the performance is — shows she's good," Maisler added. 1 2

A league above Bradley/Adam. I think we should brace herself cause this time praise will be split unlike ASIB/HOG. I just hope stupid liddos on twitter don't start smearing JP, it will only hurt both of their chances. 1 3

At the end of the day the movie is about PHOENIX character and he already won an Oscar for this. Gaga's character is being introduced just now, don't expect the same treatment. Don't forget that people who saw the film are already saying that she is on the same level as him. She will have her moment. Edited July 23 by shadowfred 2

Aston Martin Posted July 23 Posted July 23 I was skimming through r/Oscarrace and MOLDderby earlier and I don't think I have the wherewithal to go through another awards season I'm definitely going to be rooting for Gaga/the movie and celebrate any noms and wins she gets, but I'm staying out of the awards spaces this time around 1
