She needs to make an impression and for that she would also need good visuals, not only a good song. If she's going to serve a 1 dollar music video again like Skin of my Teeth... well... good luck to her. 1

Rod Ws. Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Billboard's Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century Chart No. 52, Demi Lovato Demi Lovato is among the many stars who have seamlessly transitioned from Disney Channel icon to pop music sensation. While she appeared in several Mouse projects, it was the 2008 TV musical film Camp Rock that catapulted her to stardom. Her breakout moment came with "This Is Me," a Hot 100 top 10 from Camp Rock featuring fellow Disney alum Joe Jonas. The song introduced Lovato to a wider audience and led to her steady presence on the Hot 100, including three additional top 10s in 2013-17: "Skyscraper," "Heart Attack" and "Sorry Not Sorry." She has also collected eight top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, including 2009's No. 1 Here We Go Again. Still always welcome on-screen, she took on acting roles after conquering charts, including a run on Glee (as alter ego Dani) in 2013-14. –X.Z. https://www.billboard.com/lists/top-women-artists-21st-century-chart/ 6
thatsmydemi Posted March 17 Posted March 17 Oh wow Miley is starting her era now. So it looks like Demi will be the last of her peers to release this time around. I'm glad it is this way. 2

The formula they use must heavily favour peaks. 2

I can give them Sabrina because of her overwhelming success recently. I guess having a #1 peak gave them the edge but still. Edited March 17 by thatsmydemi 3
Topaz Posted March 18 Posted March 18 I think its smarter for her to have a like hopefully Sabrina like momentum with her having a long lasting first single then two amazing ones after. She can do a droplet era after the era tbh if she's hungry for it. Her collabs in 2017-2018 did so well.
thatsmydemi Posted March 18 Posted March 18 She looks so ******* good I'm shocked also the Disney knees

thatsmydemi Posted March 20 Posted March 20 God, can any insider spill something? Not knowing the genre for this record is killing me. Now she keeps posting the most random dance tracks and even EDM tracks. What the **** is going on with this album? She went from R&B teasing to the most basic and random dance music of the 2010s (Till The World Ends) and now EDM A this point idk if she's teasing or she's just posting what she's listening at the moment with no other intention, which I doubt because she's never listened to the type of songs she's been posting on instagram 1
Greg.P Posted March 20 Posted March 20 (edited) I think the problem once again will be that Demi is jumping onto what's trendy let alone late! It seems like they're doing dance/pop maybe hyper pop! I wouldn't be surprised if her label has pushed for her to do more mainstream after HF flopped but I'm hoping after this album that she will leave island and go more independent idk Edited March 20 by Greg.P 1
Freakshowvato Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I think Demi got inspired by KESHA and Charli XCX hyper pop / EDM. If done right, she can do really well in this space. She clearly is preparing her best comeback since I Love Me with her new social media presence. Either way, the album is likely pop or R&B, or a mix of both. 1
pseudovato Posted March 21 Posted March 21 I really hope she tours with this album. I need to see her in concert again soon. She made me nervous a couple years ago when she said the Holy **** tour was her last. Hopefully it'll be like when she said she would never perform Heart Attack again

I can't help but think of dated drops of DJ collabs back from the 2010s when people mention EDM that's why I'm so scared of this sound. She's worked with Zhone so I know the production will be good and interesting but what about the work with other producers... Euphoria sounds so dated, almost like an Eurovision song from the early 2010s. I hope whatever she works on, it's radio friendly enough. If all this tiktok work leads to something radio wouldn't touch, then what's the point lol - unless they are super confident on the sound or have some plan to make a memorable era.
thatsmydemi Posted March 21 Posted March 21 By the way, they are campaigning for Child Star to get an Emmy nomination. I thought it had been ignored this awards season but maybe it wasn't eligible lol 2

pseudovato Posted March 21 Posted March 21 The last time I heard Demi on the radio was in 2020 with I'm Ready Hopefully she can actually get some radio airplay this era. 2

To think I Love Me could be her last "semi" hit kills me. What an awful way to end your legacy. Idc what comes next, I need her to outdo I Love Me so that I can say her latest top 20 isn't that song 2

Her voice is still intact and her image if better than ever. Dancing With The Devil would have done better imo with better image and single picks.
Greg.P Posted March 24 Posted March 24 I'm so ready and nervous for new music! I'm not expecting quality like HF but I hope we get DEMI 2.0 but obviously more mature and better!
thatsmydemi Posted March 24 Posted March 24 Selena's album: out Miley's album: May 30 Demi is next. I can't wait for her to start this era. It feels like she's taking forever 2
thatsmydemi Posted March 25 Posted March 25 God... I really have faith in Brendon. I really hope they are working on a good plan for her. I need an exciting era.
Rob_Matteo Posted March 25 Posted March 25 At this point i'd be kinda surprised if the album isn't pop, maybe Pop/RnB but judging from her social media presence, the songs she posts etc. it feels like it's definitely gonna be a bit poppy at least...

Maybe some R&B and Dance influences here and there, but essentially pop.
