While feelings are at a high right now, lets be real: in hindsight it wont matter if whatever was supposed to come today will come next week, in 2 weeks or in 3 weeks. So whatever.

it's both. she'd be diverting attention for regular folk (and getting dragged for it) while being drowned out in the news media/not getting the coverage she usually gets with an announcement of this magnitude.

did you miss the part where he said he is postponing his ENTIRE ALBUM RELEASE, which was originally scheduled for 1/24? :deadbanana2:

they are also postponed because anything to do with celebrity and millionaires is, right now, seen as superfluous. for most everyone in California, where I am and where the entire film and music industries are based, there's more important **** going on.

I missed the album part that's my bad :rip:

Also idk much about The Weeknd or the way he markets his music. The concert couldve been a huge part of his promotion campaign. Enough about him.

It would be one thing if Beyoncé just surprise released something without a prior announcement during these times. But this was planned. She's always going to be the evil capitalist queen to ppl who won't listen to her music anyways. New music is not all that distracting in the grand scheme of things and like someone else said, most FANS would see it as the light as the end of the tunnel

Regardless if its act iii or not, there's a tour coming :gaycat2:

That was the right decision.

The point is that the damages are too serious I don't even know if she we should expect anything this month. If even awards show are in jeopardy we could wait a couple of months for things to return to "normal"

the fact we'll have to wait god knows how long for the date of a new announcement, then wait some more for the announcement to be announced and then wait even more for what was announced to actually happen…

if she was going to drop a single and announce Act III pre-orders, for example, including $50+ vinyl and $40 CD box sets, this ain't the time to do that. simple as that. even if it would have brightened up many fans' week.

At the same time you walk outside and it's like the aftermath of the apocalypse so I get why. People have lost everything so it's insensitive to promote a project. Especially since she also lives here.

I feel like everyone in the basé forgot Tina's house, or at least one of her houses, burned down... like? do people not understand the scale of these fires? we're talking about over 40,000 acres actively burning. that's like 2 full Manhattans. it's bigger than the city of Paris.

When she releases a triple single and they're a funk bop like Prince's Kiss, a power ballad like Tina's The Best and a rock influenced disco anthem like Donna's Hot Stuff we will forget about all about this. :date3:

The freaks who want her to struggle and fail with her tour and wishing her family burns need a refill on their psychosis meds respectfully. Are we serious rn?

What exactly did you think was gonna happen when her home is in flames? Announce something then ask for money like other tone deaf celebrities? Use those itty bitty brains just a little bit.

It's frustrating but unfortunately this was bound to happen. Making this decision is difficult hence the last minute announcement, it means scrapping large plans her workers have to reschedule whatever she was planning to do, people's lives/jobs are going to be affected with the push back but obviously the lives of the people suffering from these fires are vastly more important. It's hard to make such calls as a person in charge of your work

This was the right thing to do. She took the right decision.

But please Bey, don't change the original plan.

It's just as well, it's not today, logging on this site is a pain. I wish The Beyhive board still existed.

while i hated to see the postponement i can imagine the amount of hate/backlash she'd get had she announced whatever she was going to announce. not that she's not already getting all the backlash. oh well. right decision

Like a good sitdown with psychiatrists.

What kind of stupid joke is to envision someone you love and kids being burned, all knowing Miss Tina's house actually burned down. And the sicko who put a laughing smiley on that post when even haters put a dumb down.

I am also wondering what about a CC tour makes some fans so nasty, if you don't want a tour, skip it!!! Some international Hives have been going almost 15 years (almost 2 decades) without a tour coming near them and they don't wish those tours didn't happen or flopped. Instead they were begging for DVDs, that they didn't even get. You not being able to attend a tour or a tour happening for an album you don't like is not the end of the world. That's privilege at its finest.

Then people complain about people putting dumb down in base, some of these posts should be reported.

Being a "fan" doesn't excuse shitty behavior.

The only thing I fear - and this is more existential and not really just Bey - is people keep saying "It was right to wait for things to return to normal", but I think what constituted normal even five years ago is over.  Every week there's something happening.  In the US, 100 people could get shot at a school or a mall the day she postpones it to :rip:

I don't think anyone knows what they're doing anymore.  The good thing is adapting to the times has been one of Bey's strong suits.

And they have a right to be frustrated by that. I stand by saying I do not want a tour and would not be sad if it were unsuccessful

The chaos in here

Was I the only one fully fully expecting this to be postponed. I was a bit disappointed waking up and seeing her post but not even slightly surprised. She he absolute back lash she'd of received today if she announced something.

The question now is, are we getting a rescheduled date or do we have to sleep with one eye open for the next month? :jonny2:

Postponing was the right decision, no matter how much we all hate it. They clearly haven't decided when they are announcing, probably depending on how bad things are in LA.

I don't think she'll give us a date now.  She's probably irritated as is, and she doesn't want to risk needing to postpone it again.  It sucks because it could be anywhere from next week to March :deadbanana4:

Add the fact that Donald Dump, who is trying to incite WW3, hasn't even taken office yet

Aside from the evil posts people are sending in this forum about burning houses (wth is wrong with some of you...), this postponement has kinda annoyed me.

I understand it probably needed to happen, but they left it far too late. On a personal note this was getting me through a tiring couple of weeks so it feels a bit crushing to have it cackhandedly cancelled.

I just really dont like parkwood sometimes.

Not being sad because something that has nothing to do with you is not successful is one thing, praying for the downfall of a tour of an artist you love and hoping something awful happens so it gets canceled just because you can't go or don't want it is insane and privileged behavior.

If it's a tour, the announcement has to come as soon as possible, otherwise she has to make sure that tickets are selling fast by promoting harder, and we know that's not gonna happen. Stadiums are probably booked and the venues are at a schedule as well.

Ugh...

But totally understandable.

For those irked by the last minute of it all, I'm almost certain it's because they were back and forthing internally about whether to go ahead or not. Temperature checking the situation and playing it by ear.

Much as I applauded the genuine kindness of her donation, from a PR perspective, I always saw it as "doing her part" ahead of the on-schedule announcement (which would effectively be "business as usual").  There was always going to be a sect of folk who were going to come for her, so being volumized about her donation + encouraging others to donate beforehand would be a protective clapback.

Ultimately, I think they made the right decision. The fires are ongoing. her peers are postponing, and even her own mom was affected. Much as I wanted the announcement, I can admit and see how it would have been slightly tone-deaf.

The only thing puzzling me now is when she will announce. How will they re-rev the buzz machine? Another trailer coming? A rescheduled date for the announcement? A totally surprise announcement?

Bey is an act whose plans typically stick (no delays, pushbacks, rescheduling). So this is all pretty much new terrain.
