The one thing i didn't like and i'll just say it, it's the second outfit. I'm sorry but i've seen better on her and it looked awkward at times because it didn't looked comfortable to dance in. I think we can just say, the leotards are tired. A beautiful white jumpsuit would have worked better here, like a leather jumpsuit would have been cute.

Considering it uses the Netflix Beyoncé Bowl Font, Netflix matched her Bio with "Look at that Horse", the assistant director who worked on Homecoming retweeted it with a '🎥', *and* LiveNation retweeted,

this is most likely going to be a BTS documentary containing the actual performance, which shows her discussing the album itself AND the making of the halftime show. And it ends with her announcing a tour.

this serves as good fodder for Grammy voters, fulfils one of her Netflix deals AND explains all the confusion

Makes sense!

So, the Halftime x a BTS doc packaged as anything from a 30 min to 1.5 hour documentary special.

Perfect vehicle to "promote" a CC tour or residency.

That said, like others have mentioned, the promo does look like she's waving goodbye to CC. But if the font is giving Halftime/Netflix…I dunno.

Now we're seeing Netflix saying the performance will be uploaded later this week…before Jan 14th.

Who knows?

I guess I'll be the first to say it. While I liked the intro, American Requiem would have ATE down. Can you imagine "there's a lot of chatter in here, so let me make myself cleeearrruh!!" The chills, I would have had.

I do agree that American Requiem would have made a better opening though.

For the fellow folk who care about the BTS info, do we know:

* Who creative directed this?

* Who choreographed + oversaw choreography?

I see Parris Goebel say she did Buckin "section" (which was amazing) but it seemed to be just that. She was in New Zealand for Xmas, so she couldn't have been involved at an intricate level beyond submitting choreo for a section.

Similarly, while I saw some of the Rennie dancers back, the lead creatives for the tour (Fatima Robinson and her team of assistant choreographers) didn't post about it and were literally at home celebrating Xmas (the last I checked). So, it definitely presents as different people at the helm. She generally always works with Chris, so interested in who else is in the mix for this.

Personally not a fan of these low key entrances. I like big,  SB13 entrance was perfect.

Renaissance deserved that halftime slot tonight, but anyways. It was good.

I love Her subtle openings. They  always have a  meaning. It makes me recall 2014 VMA's beginning with Mine, 2016 VMA's w/Pray you Catch me, Renee Tour surprising everyone by starting with DIL, SB 2013 beginning with the excellence speech over RTW Girls then LOT acapella. There's a reason she started with 16 Carriages.

Low key, the highlight for me was MY HOUSE.

It was the most pleasant surprise and her and blue ate. With a HBCU marching band behind her, it was a shot of energy we needed.

Loved the intro! 16 carriages is such an amazing song. Surprised me with Blackbird, but seeing the country girls up there was everything and gave me chills!

Levii's Jeans is and has always been a sexy bop. I thought there was more taste in this base.

- I PLEASANTLY enjoyed the halftime performance. For the current standard of a holiday halftime, she raised the bar, but, as someone already stated, this wasn't a super-bowl performance

- I think opening with "16 CARRIAGES" makes the most sense for the spread of the show. It's a dual lead single for the current album she's performing. Now, not performing the beginning of "AMERIICAN REQUIEM" and performing. . . "BLACKBIRD", now that's was anticlimactic for it to be the beginning of the performance. Wasn't needed!

"YA YA" was just as incredible as we've always known it would be. I hate that it's the only song on the album with so much life, power and energy, because it's really a movement within itself. "MY HOUSE" even being included is more than I could ask for. Though I tend to hate her stand alone singles, it's one song I am starting to say is one of my favorites.

I actually hate " SPAGHETTII", one of the worst songs of her career, but I definitely believe it's suited for a live arrangement, and I wasn't wrong. The little two bits incorporated played into the grand scheme perfectly. I actually enjoyed my man, Shaboozey. "RIIVERDANCE" was just as good as I thought it could be. "LEVII'S JEANS" is finally getting the credit it deserves. The live arrangement with the snare is amazing. It wasn't too slow, but just the right amount smooth, yet effective. "JOLENE" and "TEXAS HOLD'EM" are where I held issues

"JOLENE" was cool, but I feel like it brought the energy down even more after LJ. It wasn't completely off, but the placement wasn't good. Same issue with TEXAS, the mood of the song and the placement on the setlist are terrible. I have no a love/hate relationship with the song, but I thought it would be different live. The song was just too slow to go out with in the end, especially with limited drums between the percussion. The ending was the best part, it became one of the best climaxes I've heard in YEARS!

- The hair, make up and outfit was great. I think it's my favorite of her halftime performances. Even the opening look served its purpose, but the second look is hands down her best for me.

- Blue did an amazing job. She nearly stole the show! I think the crowd went just as crazy for her as Post. My man did good, I don't give a dmn what y'all say😂. Post did great as well, but he did have much to work with enough to mess it up. Ashley wasn't noticed. The "BLACKBIRD" girls weren't needed, neither was the performance.

- Amazing performance, as always. Nothing less expected

What I liked

Costuming, staging, choreo, her energy, the transitions, the band :jonny4:

What I didn't

Starting with 16, very long pre-recorded intro, lack of live vocals, levi's jeans taking up space

Overall this was a beautiful performance that showcased her album and also felt like an authentic halftime show with the inclusion of bands and all the field work. I also loved how she had elements of her previous performances like coachella and vma 2016 in there. My fave parts were My House, Buckin & Texas :gayoncecat3:

My Rose originally being named after Sir and the lyrical content definitely feels like she tried to hint at what some of the fans have assumed about him and why he aint shown as much as the other two…but hey hope i'm wrong for their sake you know :lakitu:

maybe that's why she changed it to My Rose :chick1:

She gave Shaboozey a lot of time and space to shine, I love that for him.

Can someone tell me why they think a lot of it was lipped?

Ou one thing about Sasha is that she is NOT afraid to give a stank face and not always concerned to look pretty all of the time. Renaissance was very much glitz n glam, but miss Cowboy Carter was gettin raw nasty right at the beginning of Ya Ya.:jonnycat:
