Mitsouko Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Objectively speaking Lemonchore is a relic. Renaissance takes a sweaty explosive **** on its grave while B'Day watches and cackles. 3

ScorpiosGroove Posted July 31 Posted July 31 lemonade is her most acclaimed album and considered her magnum opus for a reason. yes renaissance is more entertaining and more easy listening but lemonade just has something the other albums don't. and you have to have a certain musical knowledge and taste to fully get it. like the different genres blending together and creating an uber cohesive album (something Cowdung tried and failed to do), the film adding an even deeper layer (for example Sorry using the theme from swan lake, the ultimate story about heartbreak and betrayal, and the implications that that has alone is just chef's kiss). Little details like Love Drought's alien-esque intro sampling Ring Off, the different songs/chapters representing the various stages of grief, the lyrics, the performances… everything around that album was pure perfection and if you're ever going through a tough breakup you'll see it for the masterpiece it is. and if not maybe you're just tasteless, ugly and lonely 5 1
Burn Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Lemonade isn't her best album but at the same time it is her *masterpiece* in the same way that Purple Rain and Thriller are not Prince/MJ best albums but will always be looked at as their masterpieces. This album will deservedly go down in history as the essential Beyoncé album. There's a reason it's the album that makes these 'best of' lists over her other albums. There are no skips. I know fans aren't crazy about Forward but it serves its purpose and at ~1 minute it's hardly a chore to get through. I love how the album explores different genres yet still sounds so cohesive at the same time. It's Bey's vision that really tied everything together. She's a master at it and she really perfected her craft here. Aside from Renaissance (and CC since it's still new), Lemonade is the album I play front-to-back the most often. I find it to be very easy listening. 2

Kristie Kuwa Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Lets talk about how the reconciliation part and "back in love"-part of Lemonade drags down the album. The rage/divorce part of the album is the one that ATE! 2 1
Triton Posted July 31 Posted July 31 Lemonade gets its acclaim for its conviction given its background, the cheating scandal. Plus the visuals and spoken poems just add to the experience. The songs themselves are ok, a couple of highlights but also some snoozes. It's how she weaved them in together. Also Sorry is the biggest POS she's ever recorded. Should have kept it closer to the demo.

We live in 2024, the era of the internet and social media. We are literally CONDITIONED to be force fed, to immediately turn to new things the moment we get slightly bored. Our activity online is KEY to modern economy. Our fav likes to pretend its 1958 where black artist only get one proper way of performing per year. Shocker, that doesnt fly in 2024. We, as a society, get bored after a month of her doing 0. Such a shock. But yas insta posts on yachts and collages that were never hip to begin with, change the game Queen. 2
TizTiz Posted July 31 Posted July 31 The same ppl calling "LEMONADE" boring, wants us to believe "B'Day" is the best album to ever grace the face of the earth, while it's being remembered as an unmastered, immature mess of 2 week old throw a ways inspired by Deena Jones & Curtis. . .‼️ Also, I think ppl have been pretty open about the confusion with the final outcome of "COWBOY CARTER" since day one. Ppl have always been stated the album is too long, to boring in the middle & the mishandling just made the chart hugger even more pissed. 1

Kristie Kuwa Posted July 31 Posted July 31 (edited) This base needs to understand one thing: Country is considered the genre of the people (similar to Rap, but for other folks obviously). These two genres thrive through authenticity, through heart and storytelling. Just because Bey puts on a Cowboy hat, stylistically sings Country and posts a pic of herself at the Houston Rodeo in 1989 doesnt make anybody believe her. She had the world in her palms when she announced the project and THE, her best charting single since If I Were A Boy (globally speaking). All she had to do was to show heart, soul, and care. Perform in her garden with Miley, give Interviews like a normal human being/musician, talk about the creation. Just be real and tangibile But all she gave us is high societé Beyonce living in L.A. playing dress up. Shes so far up her own stinking rich ass, that im happy to know she aint getting what she craves and tanks with her music in the longrun. Wealth has corrupted her, it is what it is. And thats the end of my ted talk. Edited July 31 by Kristie Kuwa 6
