The camerawork in Dance for You is incredible, the set is amazing, the lightning is on point, it's one of the best she's ever looked and overall it creates a very cinematic feel. But most importantly for a video, it compliments the song. They just go together extremely well to create a memorable experience. Dance For You is undoubtedly top10 in her career, both song and video. Trade mark Beyoncé and the type of stuff that consecrated her. 3

Burn Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 I'd like to see a tribute show for Beyoncé happen in the next 5 years.

Most Cuff It: I love my Bey in her commercial bag. I'm in the rare camp that loved (and still love) BMS for this reason, but Cuff It was the true "finally" moment for me who a) grew up on Bey making unashamed plays for commercial dominance and b) has had to watch all the other girlies snatch their commercial hits with uptempo bops (while Bey was in her most edgy/art not charts season). Alien: Edgy af. The intro alone is like no other Bey song and yet it explodes into this epic universally appealing dance bop. Not sure I'll ever forgive her for not pushing it all the way. Video or no video, it should sit alongside Cuff It as a career moment and have the stats to match. I just love that it SOUNDS like a personal evolution but still plays like "make it for everyone". Least Thique: Disliked it on first listen and still dislike it now. I'm a STAN-STAN who thinks Renaissance is her best album next to 4 and have probably only ever heard Thique 3/4 times in full. Besides being boring, it literally commits the sin of having such a slay title and just not delivering on it in any way. I get the sense Giselle just liked it and shoe-horned into what is otherwise an album full of AAA slays. Basically, she stuck it on there because she tick-boxed enough of what else would work. POTS: The R&B lover in me can appreciate this on a vocal tip, but it deffo sticks out for disrupting the pace of things. I like that she stuck it on there to show versatility and it's a "good" song, but I actually don't think it's "that" amazing to occupy the "sole slow jam on the album' spot. I get the sense sis just likes it and is the other song she stuck on the album when in reality she can definitely come up with better, especially in that "only slow track" slot. Edit: just saw that you said song and not songs lol. I guess these are some bonus ones lol, Edited July 21, 2024 by Cbreezy 1
Negiiiii Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Most : ENERGY. I knew since we got the setlist I would love it because I truly love BEAM's universe so I knew exactly what to expect and they DELIVERED. Energy is still my song to this day. Least : Obviously POTS if BMS doesn't count as we got it before the album. I would always skip POTS and VS. Now VS is my soooooong and I like POTS when it comes on even tho I don't really need it… it's not like BMS which I would ALWAYS skip when listening to Renaissance.
AxelFox Posted July 21, 2024 Posted July 21, 2024 Most: POTS. I'm a DIL apologist so this was my favorite on first listen. Virgo's Groove overtook after a few listens tho. Least: AUIYM - just not my style at all. Still my least favorite to this day.
