Objectively which song is the best written on Cowboy Carter?

For me it's DAUGHTER and there is no competition.

Riiverdance is lyrically underrated. It has some of the best lines on the album:

"I died and someone brought me back to life

But never to my senses"

"He cried the day he realized

That lies were hidden in my kisses"

"Your words, they take the shape my body makes

Ain't that the scary thing"

You are so right. Riiverdance is the most underrated. By far. I just think she failed to make a point with it. The song itself is long and one note.

My intention was to reward its production and vocal arrangement, that funky bass is SO good. She was channeling her inner Sade there, and I was indeed longing to hear Beyoncé in a song like that for so long.

Anyhow, it was hard to choose just two songs off CC since I'd argue that it's Bey's best well-written album. Daughter, Alligator Tears, and Just For Fun are career highlights.

Unfortunately, it's monotonous. I wish we got a sharper blend of Country, Disco, and House :chick3:

One thing that does frustrate me about the visuals is that they clearly were meant to have already dropped before the tour. Whole set-peices were designed around what we can assume to be visual references (KNTY News, the COZY robots, the Alien Abduction from her bed in AS, the Aphrodite Shell (as confirmed with the VG leak), the Heated press conference set, etc etc.

All of those live references went to waste because we didn't understand them outside of the context of the tour.

It's as if she debuted the baseball bat camera smash during the VMAs rather than the Lemonade film. It's fine, it's still fun, but it just isn't the way I want to experience these ideas for the first time.

I was blackout drunk when I commented that and the other thing :priceless: what I meant was that she failed to make it interesting. It started off very interesting, but just went no where. Lyrically it's one of the best songs of the album, but I totally agree with this sentiment. An Irish blend of country and disco would have instantly made it a standout hit. There was a mashup I came across that mixed Riiverdance with Gypsy Woman and it was amazing.

She obviously didn't like the final results but i still have faith they are coming next year after ACT III
