BnPac Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Beyoncé a drug addict? With that vocal technique and voice? Is this a haters' thread? 1 1 4

Kristie Kuwa Posted April 1 Posted April 1 U can be addicted to medication and not drugs (see Prince or MJ) per so, just saying. I don't think thats what shes hinting at

Lovett Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Not sure what the source for this is, but if it's true it's yet another example of Bey doing promotion recently. Which is interesting! 2
Kristie Kuwa Posted April 1 Posted April 1 (edited) 2 Hands 2 Heaven makes me wonder if its spiritually in the same category like Break My Soul. When she sings "Carry on, carry on, carry on, singing "I will carry on"", theres such a sense of melancholy, of almost defeat, which reminds me of Break My Souls message. I wonder if this is only about her relationship to Jay, or whether it has more to do with her will to create music. As per Beyonce, its always an enormous uphill battle to convince labels, radio stations etc to take her craft seriously and let her cook and develop music the way she envisions it Edited April 1 by Kristie Kuwa

Arrogant Posted April 1 Posted April 1 This opinion will get you jumped in certain circles, but I've never cared for Jolene. The song does absolutely nothing for me, and in fact I lowkey have a disdain for it. Or rather, a disdain for the way people glorify the concept of a woman down on her knees begging not to be disrespected by another woman, saying it's brave because "it's so vulnerable " and "it's actually a girl power anthem when you think about it." Yeah, I'm not that type of girl. So needless to say I never wanted her to cover it. But it is what it is, and I'm glad she switched it up. 1
ScorpiosGroove Posted April 1 Posted April 1 the synth sucking you up followed by the spacey sounding ding sound that you hear throughout the album are more iconic than certain artists' discogs

I kinda feel this! it's a catchy tune but never really a standout to me. Resentment is more vulnerable and raw without being so... pick-me-ey? though I do understand being a pick-me was the norm when Jolene was written. 1

holyground13 Posted April 1 Posted April 1 I love that the rating for 4 on Google is 4.4 stars. In reality it's full marks but that wouldn't look as cute.
