Theres room for a lot more nuanced discussions of her position in Black culture that don’t revolve around saying that she’s a victim of reverse classism/colorism from the Black community as a collective. Precisely, Beyonce has surpassed "a black celeb" and is to be criticized the same way a sitting president or any other super duper A-list global celeb would be. Your life, your every move, your family's life and every move is always up for discussion at that level of a lens. She is not unaware of that either, she addresses it in her music AND she knows her idols have dealt with it. Beyoncé's intelligence is criminally underrated and that is a different discussion, but I digress, she is just as talked about in white circles as black circles, especially in the US. 1
mons†er Posted February 19 Posted February 19 I really do miss the original ‘uh oh’ dance. I always wonder why did she change it. 2

Lose My Breath Posted February 19 Posted February 19 What do y'all think the TH'E visual looks like? I picture her line dancing is a cute ass country outfit, with daisy dukes, a straw hat, and a piece of hay in her mouth
mons†er Posted February 20 Posted February 20 I still believe the visuals from act I & act II are connected. The third act’s visuals are its own separate entity. at least that’s what I think she’s doing. I believe she’s become bored after she changed the game and everyone started following her so she had to do something different once again. she had never had her visuals tie into each other from two different albums. at least not that I could remember. 4
SashaDevachelli Posted February 20 Posted February 20 My desire for the TH’E visuals, is her dressed up in that red lingerie like on the billboard, and then have herself covered in baby oil. And then I want her to start jump roping up and down, camera paying extra attention to the chest area 1 6

I was going to say… I think it’s more of the boy crazy mindset of a lot of straight women have that fuels this narrative. It’s not just the black community. Like there are instances that blew my mind, like black women defending R Kelly and Chris Brown through their scandals, but that’s that boy crazy/patriarchal programming that girls of any race can have. Like the way so many white women unwaveringly support Trump regardless of how sexist and disgraceful he is towards women. A lot of white girls in general will marry homophobic/racist N*zis and go on to support their gay or poc friends like it’s nothing Then there’s the straight women who will call Bey overrated and then go on to stream Ed Sheeran. Straight men on the other hand are more likely to support one another on all fronts. They’re also WAY less likely to support female artist whereas as straight girls are often supporting male artists much more than female artists. Psychologically speaking, it’s because straight men seek power and are inspired by other men with a lot of power and influence. Whereas boy crazy women give up all their power by being some man’s “property” and feel threatened by other women who are prettier or more talented etc. (Obviously all of this is not always the case, but in many cases it’s true) Edited February 20 by BGKC 1

heartlocket Posted February 20 Posted February 20 What’s the deal with pre-orders/physicals? I was close to giving parkwood their 6’s for handling this era well (so far…).

Shelter Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Was this ever posted on ATRL? Sorry for bringing this in here but I find it ironic how she was coming for Bey when she was doing this. The article is from Nov 2023 Bangladesh has revealed how he got Kelis to sign off on his royalties for producing the beat for her 2006 hit single "Bossy." During his visit with Bag Fuel, the Grammy-nominated producer revealed he just had his royalties cleared for "Bossy" 17 years after the hit single was released. According to Bangladesh, the singer never signed off on a split sheet for the song, which meant no royalties were paid out to those involved. He added that Kelis was very "difficult" to work with and he didn't know if it was something personal she had against him. However, after 17 years, he managed to figure out a way to get her to sign off. "How the record was created, I did the whole beat, so that's already 50 percent, so then Sean Garrett wrote the hook. Jasper and another dude wrote the verses, but she kind of like quarterbacked it," Bangladesh said. "I think the label got Too $hort on it, so the numbers was adding up more than 100 because she was taking a lot of it, and she ain't do nothing." He added, "What you was asking for doesn't justify the work you did. It was like you got four people on the writer's side, and you trying to take 25 percent of the 50, and it's like this n***a wrote the hook, this n***a wrote the verse, you asking for too much, and there wasn't enough left for Too $hort." 1 2

I think because of that, they sideeye someone as successful as Bey who got it all - a family, super gifted, beautiful, powerful, influential. Shes got it all, yet she never had to struggle as badly as others (apparently). Jealousy and envy are thus at play: "why does she have everything? Oh I CANT stand it" Comparatively, white people are different. Because they usually come from a background of privilege, its much easier to uplift one another, even if the talents are so mediocre..u just have more to spare, there seems to be more "space" vs the token black popstar spot. Add to all of that misogyny, and it makes sense why Bey is always involved in some bs Black people feel entitled to black peoples crossover. Look at how they tried to sway the public with BMS, leaked it in fact. Then tried to "sample snitch" and get Robin S. To say something shady about Bey, despite her not being a writer. And yet, she was credited. BTW she had the nerve to put Chris Brown over Bey like a year later. They really thought THE was dead on arrival and didn't care about the writers then. The legendary Raphael Co wrote it and he would never play with his coins. Now they're mad that their echo chamber isn't picking up as much steam and tried to pull another Kelis controversy to sink an era that is reaching the widest demo she has since 2009. 1
