Not a country song potentially being Bey's way back into success in Asia. :deadbanana2: What is going on??

Not Beyoncé literally having her most successful era. I see it happening. It’s like if Single Ladies was released in 2024, except sis hadn’t even put out the video. :jonny5:

not me getting an offer for a curatorial fellowship with the NPS the week she drops new music

oh Bey, her power knows no bounds :jonny3:

Spoiler

not my first choice from my current round of apps/interviews BUT accepting it anyway just to have a guaranteed backup since it won’t start until May

Also while we're on the topic I just want to point out that Country Radio appears to be welcoming this era with open arms so maybe some members of the Beyhive can chill out and stop calling everyone that doesn't like the song a racist :toofunny2:   I know that Country Music industry is conservative and doesn't have the best reputation for diversity but I also know trying to force this as a race issue isn't going to do Beyonce any favors.

I do think that the KYKC situation needed to happen to establish that we wouldn't tolerate Beyonce being blackballed but now that we have established that Country radio will put her in rotation I hope the fans can take their foot off the pedal a little bit. I don't want Beyonce to be painted as some victim for the entire era :doc:  Yes there will be racists that will hate on her no matter what she puts out but let's not allow them to control the narrative please.

They didn't just welcome it with open arms, it didn't happen without pushback

I'm so intrigued about this era and what's to come.

I'm elated with the success of Texas, but I still am taking it as the BMS of the album. That deliberate "grab-your-attention, on-the-nose-af" track that sonically sets the scene and soundscape for an album inspired by that sound but is super broad in its influence.

I say that to say, I wonder what will become of the GP she's scooped up with Texas if the album, for example, is more in the vein of...

I'll be upfront in saying I want more of this sound and experimentation than more of what Texas is giving. But am bracing for the unknown because never ever would I have expected something as delightfully literal as Texas.

My prediction is a mix of:

Literal Country: Texas

Soulful Country: Daddy Lessons, 16 Carriages, and Countrified takes on All Night

Experimentation: Rodeo example above.

Pop: It's clear this is the album she will most likely be roping the Beckies back in, so I want unashamed plays for big Pop moments. Having Ryan Tedder in the mix is encouraging on this tip.

I acknowledge that but I think pushing the issue to hard has potential to backfire lol

Oh let me go boost her streams. I think Bey's real legacy in this era will be boosting the profile of Black country artists who are on the cusp but didn't a boost of visibility to really take off.

I just followed Tanner and saw she did a post about how what is big deal It is for Beyonce to be going country.  Unfortunately, there are some Beehive Stans being defensive and weird in the comments towards her :doc:

Yeah, I saw some people were giving her a hard time. She's a sweetheart and doesn't deserve the hate.

It's simple. If you don't want to be called a racist, then don't say or do racist things. Has the BeyHive really been calling people who don't like the song "racist" or just a select few?

But I do agree that it's great the country scene seems to be welcoming her so thoroughly. I would assume that even they are beginning to think sameness is boring and that she's injecting a new energy to the genre that hasn't been there for a while... I could be assuming because I'm not very into the country culture but from the outside surely there's not been this kind of reverence to the genre in a long while. Even Old Town Road felt almost more tongue-in-cheek than an actual submission.

english translation:

DEUXMOI via Instagram about Beyoncé's VISUALS:

“The celebrities in Visuals for Beyoncé are genuinely surprising – so many black artists, celebrities, etc. – I'm shocked that you remained silent for so long. These are people she hugged at the Grammys. She spent over 5 years coming up with the idea for them, and it is a complete two-part film for all three acts combined.”

“When will Beyoncé’s visual album be released? Literally everyone is in it – Maya Rudolph, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Hart, Alana Haim and more. Can not wait!"

— Reminder: they got Beyoncé right for ESSENCE magazine.

Yeah, the meagre discography boost during Renaissance’s release was odd.
