Huh? How does June 2022 - January 2024 equals 2.5 years? :o

Because we're not gonna start counting from the time she said the word 'Renaissance' for the first time in an interview (albeit this Harper's Bazaar interview counts for like a THIRD of the entire promo campaign for this album). :doc:

It doesn't, I've corrected it.

This, these fan made version never quite hit all the right bits. Have yet to hear a Cozy one that nailed the falsetto at the end.

this one kinda does

but i agree fanmade studio versions very rarely catch every single detail so to me the live album is a necessity. i’m less stressed knowing that we’ll get the HQ audio one way or another once the film’s on dvd/streaming but i do need the WHOLE thing on streaming, full interludes, cut songs & all

It's cool but ngl I'm a bit sad that's the only use we got out of the remix. I always envisioned a Dance For You like performance for the Cuff it remix and that's exactly the part where she'd sex it up to the fullest

I was pleasantly surprised she extended both BMS & CI to their remixes live in the first place. There was a time she’d do a verse + chorus (maybe bridge) n move to the next on the setlist

There's that rumour that they the film will be released on DVD/digital in Feb, so hopefully it is released alongside that as well to streaming.

I do see the point in not releasing it until the theatrical run is over though, not just because the WW release has been staggered, but even personally I may not have went back to see it a third time if I had the live album to keep me satisfied, and I think even for non-fans who may simply be going out of curiosity, if they want their curiosity satisfied, there'd be a clear choice to be made between being able to consume a live album on a streaming they've already paid for vs. a $20+ ticket.

Pardon the false equivalency, i just thought if movies can release OSTs during theatrical window, should be apply here. I suppose the product being a concert film makes all the difference.

I was thinking the same thing when I was typing that out, trying to find the difference between an OST and a live album concert soundtrack...and do agree I think even in musicals where the soundtrack is part of the action of the film (not just background), it's a different experience of the film whereas there's story happening not just visualized performances.

Yes, I agree. It's not my fave track by any means on the album, but as the big hit, I felt it could have been drawn out a bit more to tease / play with how much people loved that song.

HTHaze does it again with a one-of-a-kind review of LEMONADE :clap3:

Honestly, after watching this, it’s scooted Miss Lemön up my list of fav Bey albums :chick1:

Does anyone else usually watch his reviews? They’re so spot on! Every nuance in LEMONADE and even his review of RENAISSANCE, he picks up on!

Do we know how much Renaissance has sold in the US thus far? Do the numbers include streams too?

Yes, the 913k includes streams, it only sold around 100k physical copies in the US in 2023.  Partially because they didn't really manufacture anything outside of those initials vinyls and albums

I think it's right around 2 million units in the US.  @Lovett @JoAddams ?

The latest figures are 2,257,000 in the US. @DR0GO you can find further breakdowns in the Receipts thread, if you need them!

I believe their prediction is based on the time a film takes to get a blu-ray/DVD release after premiering in theaters, which usually takes 3 months.

The film really is flawless, but I just wish she hadn’t included so many shots in the glittery ITG leotard. It’s SO unflattering compared to the rest.

If DC5 were ever to come back with a full album, I want this demo (broken up/arranged to fit all 5) to be the closing track:

her worst ITG outfit getting ZERO screen time... she's so real for that. the glittery leotard is fine, contours her body really well imo. the worst part of that was the ugly pink coat that restricted her movement.

I wish the one with the weird cropped jacket got the chop too.
