She so scarcely writes like that I simply appreciate it (even though I have 101 theories as to why she was so direct about the review part). For someone, so calculated, so tactile, it feels both very deliberate yet very open and free at the same time.

Now, this is the ish that riles me about her sometimes. She didn't post this or anything the day the movie came out. Just pretty, captionless snaps. I'll keep saying it, but have literally studied audiences. It's vital to hammer key messaging when posting: "December 1, tickets on same now on BeyonceFilm.com".

Saying "I can't wait to see what else y;all do" heading into its second week is a...choice lol.

I think you’re missing the point of her post, the post was meant to show her gratitude for it being a success. It’s clear she isn’t concerned about it not doing well. Not everything has to be about “keeping the movie at #1 for a second week!!!!”

I’d rather her show some personality and write something more personal than a “buy tickets now to Renaissance”. Now THAT would be more off putting

She acknowledged positive reviews, World AIDS Day and a non existent 100% positive critic reviews on RT. The point is: F Angelica. She almost went back to the studio full Queens Remix mode. :bibliahh:

No, friend. With respect, you're missing my point.

I was actually praising her for her post and saying that I am doing away with my cynicism to applaud her for leaving her strict brand guideline (of serious, less is more antics) to the side for once and just spilling on a more personal tip.

On the moaning side, I'm simply saying I'm slightly irked by the irony of her acknowledging the film in such a meaty way after its release and suggesting she "wants to see what else we do". The irony is that the majority of its steam was confined to its launch window. Which was the same with Taylor (e.g. frontloaded).

The additional irony being that when the film actually dropped, there wasn't much noise from her on socials. The trailer posts never included key release deets in the captions either.

All that said, I have a bit of an on-off relationship with her social "strategy". Her premium, less is more, cool kid angling works a lot of the time. But I equally feel there are key moments (especially when it comes to important releases) when relaying key details is a must.

That dress code thing worked PERFECTLY for the tour and it literally defined the entire US leg. I was expecting something similar in terms of pushing the dress code thing for the movie (which, in itself, helps ticket sales), but sis is suggesting it after the storm. Not the end of the world, but it's not...optimal. Especially when she's shown she a) can do it and b) ought to be thinking up different ways to promote if not wanting to do the rounds herself.

Any German Hive here, do you have any idea if the movie will still be playing after the 20th?

I have to fly to Germany on the 20th, right a day before it premiers in my country and I'll be there until the 10th of Jan so I'm really scared it won't be showing in my country anymore by the time I come back :deadbanana: fms

I think it's all up to demand and weekly audience turnouts. In Berlin they added the majority of the second week screenings at the very end of the opening weekend, so I think they're doing a weekly assessment on whether it's worth it to show it at screening rooms with bigger capacities. There's a huge screening this Sunday evening that is practically empty so far, I doubt that that cinema will play it again in the same room next week.

Yeah most cinemas around Hannover - Hamburg I checked only have showings until the 10th on their websites as of right now :dancehall:

I checked the Cinema-City chain across Europe and they do have showings until later on in the month. We have that chain in my country as well but nothing about Renaissance on their website yet. hopefully it'll come here so I can catch it in January. I can't believe I might miss this ugh :deadbanana:

What's your country? I think you might be able to catch smaller screenings in Germany right before Christmas and if it only opens on 21st in your country, there's a good chance it's still showing by Jan 10. But I get your frustration, I'm the opposite, I'll be visiting back home on the 21st and my home country is also showing it starting then but information has been scarce about it. :rip:

I still can’t get over how an interlude-like song called energy is the GLUE to this album. Every time I rewatch my concert clips  the crowd goes absolutely WILD for energy. The mute challenge is a career highlight. The kiddos love to jump around at concerts and that’s the best time to do it

do we think she’ll be involved in the soundtrack for that Mufasa movie coming out next year ?

I mean... It wouldn't make sense since the character she played wouldn't exist yet, but who knows.

I am NOT ready, lions. :biblio:

The fact that had there been no bad review, we would not have heard a damn thing from her until 2024. No caption no NOTHING

Energy couldve been the lead single, its short, good, true to her, great live, had a challenge built in, and she loves the song.

But BMS was chosen and that songs sucks, its literally the song I skip when I stream Renaissance, I put the remix in its place.

Im FUMING that Bey is not able to sit the guys from Daft Punk together and make them work on last time together on an album with her. It wouldve probably gone done as the most acclaimed album in history and would have the chance to truly influence music forward going

Some remixes are a bit clunky but it's definitely a good effort!!

Energy would be a flop as lead single :rip: It was smart to release BMS and Cuff It as singles (both also ended up as hits)

Energy as the first introduction to the era would've probably tanked the whole thing :deadbanana4: It's a great song, but in context of the album.

I would've been LIVID to see Beyoncé following the trend of super short songs and coming back with a 1:56 minute-long LEAD SINGLE. :biblio:

Nah, the afrobeats fusion in it would’ve had people livid that she’s rehashing her lion king sound. She needed break my soul to show the gworls she was doing dance music.
