She still made a strong statement by paying tribute to gay culture with her uncle Johnny. Deep down some of the attacks on her since that era started is because of it. Homophobia is not completely gone, far from it. Many celebrated this era but it also bothered many others, who used excuses to come at Bey, especially those conservative black folks in the church, they are heated about this album.

I'm just so proud of Bey for staying away from that Israel-Palestine stuff. I'm sorry but at some point people have the right to mind their business and admit they dont know everything. Just because they are mega stars doesn't mean they can share opinions on everything. Bey is not a US diplomat. Enough of this. I truly hope next era she goes back with the IASF vibe and only makes hits. Nothing deep just good songs and make your coins woman. None of those people are worth it. They always end up turning on her no matter what she does.

I agree.

But I have to say, the funny thing about this is that, back when she wasn’t the face of social justice to these people, they were calling her out for “not speaking up”.

I remember being so confused cause Chime For Change started in Feb 2013, well before the Self-Titled (Dec 2013) feminist declaration, and she had been attending Trayvon Martin rallies that same summer of 2013.

Then I realized it’s because they didn’t keep up with her activism like that. They wanted her to be in FRONT of the movement before they could credit her. Then when she did so in 2016, it was called performative and exploitative, even when she went to great lengths to make Formation single FREE for 3 months.

I’ve been in this for so long that I see all their patterns now. It’s always about humbling the woman, so they will find a way. The key is to ignore and shut them down. They’ll use fancy buzzwords and wrap up their disdain in activist language and academic theories, but these are not serious people. They are posers (and MANY times Rihanna stans or fans of lesser RnB girls).

The press for the film DID make big deal about it being released on World AID Day

The most annoying part of the article is her saying that people project radicalness onto bey. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone in the hive or bey herself refer to her politics as radical. She focuses mostly on the craft of it and the messaging is secondary. I understand wanting her to be more clear about the stances that she takes but that review is just a mean spirited takedown and completely unfair to her

I just had war flashbacks to defending her feminism in 2014 and trying to get the girls to understand that she had indeed been feminist her entire career and to just look at the messages in her music catalogue for proof. :jonny5:

Oh I used to so earnest and naive. Meanwhile those people were trolling. :gaycat6: We’ve come a long way

y'all need to just accept that parkwood and the rest of the world have moved on from the visuals

this is false. If parkwood moved on from them she wouldn’t have had Kevin prodigy mention them during the show. She just released a shirt 5 days ago that says “you are the visual baby” she is literally reminding us about them consistently.

Yes I mentioned this shirt already. And when she released this shirt no one had moved on from FWT either. So idk what point you’re trying to make lol

my point is that she’s using our desire for these to push her marketing, which means no she hasn’t moved on and forgotten about them. They are very present.

I wish the film went into why she cut the "big" three out, was it logistical? Was it too straining on her voice? I would've liked to known

Also when the horse wouldn't go up, I need the behind the scenes look backstage when that happened.

I wanna see it a third time but AMC shows no listings this week, was this just a one weekend event?

From the looks of it, it drags.

● "Thique" honestly looks like she's board. The highlights are the glimpse of visuals and the Britney sample.

● "All Up In Your Mind" looks like it's boring to audiences. The song already lacks on the album, but the live performance is boring.

● "Drunk In Love" is the of best of the 'Big 3", but it may be a bit much to sing already 2.5 hours into a 3 hour show. Seems like she did more live singing this tour, by the time you get to nearly the end, the ending of that arrangement is probably it bit much.

She also had sticky notes in the movie saying the film will stay in her mind

much like the FWT
