I think its no coincidence that she aggressively went R&B with 4 after IASF…

she must HATE that album :sistrens:

Well she should've realized Virgo's Groove is not hitting like the others and add some choreo to it as well :giraffe:

VG is my fave but if I’m being honest, it’s missing something…

the truth is that the opening act and the whole opulence section wasn’t needed :coffee2:

they are nice bonus sections but the main show would have made more sense with THIQUE/AUIYM/DIL included over those two acts but ideally she could have just cut down certain songs no one would have needed here and there :sistrens:

the songs i’d delete to bring back that section:

-rather die young

-before i let go

-the tina cover

these songs were not needed tbh

Now let’s not do too much

the covers add up to like 2 minutes 30 seconds and they are tributes... she bodies them. the Tina cover eats especially. :katie2:

Lift Off is not needed on paper but it provides a great transition between ALIEN and CUFF IT and lyrically it ties in. it's also short and sweet, doesn't drag.

Btw I am pretty sure the head piece with the 5 faces on them is from the Break My Soul video.

anyone wonder that perhaps she's not performing Single Ladies in part because the choreography is now trademarked by Jaquel Knight and she would therefore (I assume) need to pay to use it? Not that she can't afford to perform it, but kind of in principle?

The trademark is the first of its kind, I think, so its super interesting and clearly fair but I wonder how it would/might work with Beyoncé, if he'd waive a fee given he could never have copyrighted it if she hadn't made it famous, or what?

I dont think so tbh since it’s part of a scene where she is looking at herself in a dollhouse. The pic of her with the 5 faces is with her in a tub in that same dollhouse since the background matches up with that design and colour palette.

Also we pretty much got snippets from the full BMS mv during the first part of the anointed interlude. She especially showcased the visuals for Church Girl in the 2nd part of the interlude after we get that transition into the church scenes coupled with the shots of New Orleans and the twerking (referring to the origins of the Bounce genre that Church Girl sonically emulates)

break my soul is basically shots of her in that green outfit with big freedia in that bus aswell walking around New york while voguers are dancing on the street during the day and night

She did it during the FWT in 2016 two times, and she used it again for Homecoming and that wedding she performed at in India in 2018. Those were the last five times she did it. I think she's just tired of doing the same thing over and over again. She hasn't performed IIWAB since 2014. and she did Halo only four times since FWT has ended. She also hasn't performed Irreplaceable in full since Mrs Carter Show in 2014. She only did an acapella version at the FWT and used it during the DrIL > Diva transition for Homecoming. Zeah, I just think she's tired

She also must hate to do Check On It

There are songs she’s performed 197393920 million times like single ladies irreplaceable halo and iiwab that just need a break and there’s songs that she’s only done like 5 times like sweet dreams that she clearly just doesn’t like

Yes but she hasn't done Single Ladies since it was copyrighted, which makes me wonder if it's a partial reason to skip it, since it has been such a consistent part of her concerts alongside Crazy in Love.

Agreed she really does not like to perform Check On It. Can't believe it's a #1 hit she's never once performed all the way through.

It seems like she has a couple of interesting locations for this film with lots of indoor places (houses/buildings)

Her best performances of Sweet Dreams is the stripped down version at Wynn Las Vegas and the Glastonbury mash up with Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This). :gayoncecat1:

I wonder if she does a song that Mary J Blige did because of the GRAMMYs this year or something else. It's just a too random song to cover

Yes i cant wait also im suspecting that the look we saw on the break my soul single cover is indeed also part of the final scene of the music video (aswell as Church Girl) since there are also scenes of her in that outfit in some beatdown alley with grafitti around her prancing around and then she gets joined by the exact same dancers from during the daylight dancing scenes!

BMS will flow into Church Girl in some kind of way in the film and that’s why the interlude probably was constructed like this!

I love the new Formation outfit ugh:jonny5: it’s the type of outfit I expected we would get for a AHAP performance, I was sure we would get a red one piece with a shoulder pad moment to match the album photoshoot:jonny5:
