That's absolutely true. As stunning as Black is King is, it does not even get the fraction of attention it deserved nor would have gotten if it was dropped immediately.

I think a difference is there is such a culture of love and adoration baked into Renaissance as an album, that I think there will indeed be a different outcome than The Gift and, even if it's not on the scale of ST or Lemonade.

Honestly, Black Is King did a LOT for The Gift. It was dead dead in streaming before it. :deadbanana:

We’re gonna get a sickening ad and more promo for this perfume. Plus it’ll smell good and hopefully not too floral, I’m not mad at it

For sure, but it did more for The Gift than it did for itself, if that makes sense. I think it's a better work than Lemonade (film), if not just bigger and more impressive a final result, but didn't capture the public's imagination...obviously because it also didn't deal with her personal life, but I guess what I'm saying is had they come in a package, the film wouldn't be such an undiscovered gem for many.

Anyway "you are the visuals" is rather philosophical, isn't it?

A slight inference to the fact that she intends the wait for the visuals to allow us to experience the music in a way that relates solely to the songs. It's kind of what I was saying when she released the BREAK MY SOUL (Fans version) and people were mad: the intent (at least from what is released and said) seems to be that she wants us to relate to the music like we would have in the eras she's referencing, for the experience of the MUSIC to not be dependant on a video marketing it to you...

Aside from being artful an artful in-the-moment "shut tf up".

Girl. :rip: She was just telling that person they looked good. It was a polite deflection, not a philosophical musing.

I didn't see the sign but it didn't feel like she was saying they looked good. Felt more like she's saying YOU (the audience, people asking for visuals) are the visuals.

It definitely was a polite deflection but if in the back of her mind she's thought that not having visuals achieves fans relating to the music for the music, and expressing it through how they relate/dance/act towards it and not how SHE does...it might fit into that.

Plus her face...she wasn't just like, giving a sassy "I know you are but what am I?" deflection, there was a sort of "get it?" to her expression.

It was everything. Fun a visual feast so many colors good choreo on the dance parts you’re reminding me I need to watch it again

While Beyonce Experience is still a masterclass in sheer vocals & performance, looking back - you can see the budget was clearly budgeting with this tour compared to latter ones. The stage, screens, her costumes, band/dancer costumes...yeah. The camera work also sucks...I know she would LOVE to re-edit this show.

I can say Renaissance is her most beautiful/glamourous tour look since TBE...no ugly hair or dark make up.

It was very beautiful, the flow of it threw me off for it to be a film

I agree; Lemonade feels more like a film that you could rewatch over and over and find different things in it.

BIK was cute but I don’t really go back to rewatch it, even the videos by themselves are kinda boring after you watch them all the way through once. aside from like Brown Skin Girl and Mood 4 Eva.

This is just bad business, too. You should never create a social media platform you don't keep feeding as a brand.

Gonna need a M4E performance within the next five years.
