Everyone's body is different. We don't know bey's medical history and injuries can be very damaging and have lasting impacts. I'm expecting her to do her best but I need people to stop saying "she's still young she should be able to do xyz" it doesn't work like that. Gaga broke her hip at like 25

And Britney’s knees :doc:

Honestly, the way Bey performs, I’d be surprised if she hasn’t racked up some battle wounds over the last 20 years. Especially when you can consider it’s all heel choreography. So who knows!

But if 6 Inch at Tidal X or Love Drought at Grammys was anything to go by, she still has performance tricks up her sleeve she can pull to deliver a visual spectacle. I don’t expect a Diva/Everybody Mad for every song

Second, the Dubai performance was incredibly respectful to their cultural norm of pop music. I'm not sure if people are familiar with the Arab pop world, but even the biggest pop divas basically just walk onto the stage and sing. There's very little dancing or exuberant energy except for a few exceptions (at least, from what I've seen).

Beyoncé toured Dubai in I Am... World Tour in 2009 and she didn't have to tone down anything other than the outfits (covering arms and legs).

OTRII was lazy as hell and a quick little cashgrab. It was bound to be a mess when we heard her rehashing the same Naughty Girl mix during soundcheck and the meltdowns started from there. :priceless:

is it normal that users in here get so scared and anxious when it comes to bey? I feel like based on her solo performances, shes never disappointed. only dubai seemed lackluster, but then again it was a private concert where its been rumored she injured herself before. other than that, shes always delivered. even be alive was a wonderful performance and elevated the song in typical beyonce fashion when she performances live. im expecting great things from.the tour despite her lack of visibility (or maybe even because of it)

Girl, like what do you mean? It’s a visual album, mama. It has everything to do with the music.

By the time you get to All Night, you literally feel cathartic. Especially with the poem leading into it.

Take one pint of water, add a half pound of sugar, the juice of eight lemons, the zest of half a lemon. Pour the water from one jug then into the other several times. Strain through a clean napkin.

Grandmother, the alchemist, you spun gold out of this hard life, conjured beauty from the things left behind. Found healing where it did not live. Discovered the antidote in your own kit. You passed these instructions down to your daughter who then passed it down to her daughter.

:cries:

I mean, you’re right in a sense. But I guess im talking more about the emotional resonance. Currently, for me, Renaissance is a dance album, along the same lines of COADF and even recent ones like Future Nostalgia. The visuals have the potential to add more depth and emotional salience to it. Like seeing the black drag queens and femmes voguing and expressing their freedom on Pure/Honey for example could elevate the emotional stakes. Or the release of pain and judgement that a church girl goes through. Etc. Another way to think about it is how the visuals changed people’s enjoyment of The Gift. Literally went from being ignored to one of her best works.

I disagree. The Gift was much better on its own. The visuals ruined it.

Dubai was her most revered show since Coachella! I’m actually glad she focused on her vocals which were a spectacle!

the vocals were great, thats true. but as a beyonce fan who has an uncountable amount of her live performances, its also fairly obvious she wasnt giving her best in terms of performance and spectacle, which she has become reverred for

He loves this song:ahh: it doesn’t matter who you are Me Myself and I TOUCHES everyone, you just need to belt it out and really feel it:jonny5:

It will end up her most enduring song. TBE arrangement is hands down the best thing she's ever come up with.

OTRII was an embarrassment all around. The way she was too tired to do the full kick for the “suck on my balls” dance :deadbanana4:

She deserved to be rightfully dragged for that, ugh such a piece of **** song. I miss that tacky speed up gif someone made with her jumping and doing the choreo in this tacky mess.

Really? I find this hard to understand. Cuz I used to HATE (:rip:) Mood 4 Eva until that video and the swimming scene. :smitten:

Similarly, I already appreciated FYWB, but the lush landscapes in the video made it a standout track for me.

Oh and the dances for Don’t Jealous Me and My Power? Or the beautiful black legends in Brown Skin Girl?? Naomi, Kelly, Lupita, Anok??

Idk the visuals took it to a new level for me.

I just know with all the people saying Move is the worst track on the album, they are going to gag if Bey and Grace Jones link up for something in the video. That’s how powerful visuals can be.

Obviously we saw that with SL. Would it still be as successful without the black and white dance video? Maybe. As iconic? Probably not.

I disagree. It was one of her most ambitious stage designs and even hundreds of dancers + a masterful work of special effects. The only lack was the dancing which 1) was due to the Arab performance expectations & 2) allowed her to give her best vocal performances in ages.

The performance was beautiful, classy, captivating & grandiose! A 100/10!!

Yeah I’m just talking about the music. Yes a whole project lemonade is better because Renaissance is just the music, but if you compare them on what they both offer Renaissance CLEARS. Virgos groove alone >>>>>>> like I’ve never heard music this good and RICH before :jonny5: Even the album photoshoot stomps on lemonade’s lmao

Gaga still goes hard to this day on stage to the point the choreo starts eating her up so yes we do kinda expect bey to be able to dance like she used to, she’s only 42 this year. 42 is young

Also when did everyone switch on dubai? I’m sorry she ate that like the little hip she was giving for beautiful liar and her vocals :jonny5: she looked so RADIANT too like she was commanding that army of girls it was everything. I do think she’s gonna give more dancing on a full world tour and the album is a DANCE album but dubai was supposed to be like high class royal puss type of performance not dancing

Again, everyone’s body is different. At this point we have no idea what choreo she can do because she did almost zero at Dubai. She could be ******* it up in rehearsals as we speak, we don’t know. But if the tour is serving minimal choreo I don’t wanna see people acting shocked

Y’all really don’t realize celebrities are human :hoetenks: Beyoncé is not a robot and she is absolutely capable of harming herself. Especially after 20+ years of intense choreo. One misstep could have major consequences

I hate that "Ja Ara E" and "Don't Jealous Me" aren't her songs. They're absolute bops.

Who do y’all think is going to be the opening act for the tour? FLO confirmed they’re not opening. I believe Chloe is going to be performing somewhere else during one of the tour dates, so I don’t think she will opening either.

Maybe Victoria Monet? Nile Rodgers & Friends? Raphael Saadiq & Friends? A DJ Honey Dijon set? Jessie Ware? Azealia Banks or Dawn Richard? Megan Thee Stallion? (Meg did tease in that ET Oscars Vanity Fair party interview that she received tickets for accepting a specific offer that "some people would be mad about" ... always assumed Ren visual or a remix of a Ren song like Thique/Church Girl, but maybe opening in Houston or other select dates might actually be the reason)

All would be amazing choices.

In good news, Renaissance is #1 on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart for the 21st week! Think it will eventually beat the fame!
