I duno. but her power when literally she has an Easter egg on her site (if even that) and a blank profile photo to cause all this commotion...

Planet Mars Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 Yeah, I feel like she was testing the waters, only because her last projects, despite being side projects probably didn't get the reception she wanted. 2021 was the first year she didn't chart on the Hot 100 since 1997, Be Alive missed the chart entirely. I'm still going for a good 300k - 400k first week. But I think her best option to get there would be a traditional release with a set date as opposed to another last minute or surprise drop. She's past her imperial phase for sure, but the moment she announces a tour she'll easily sell out and maybe even break records if she chooses to actually tour the world as opposed to just NA and Europe.

Same with EIL, the hype may be there but if even your fans don't want it, how great is it going to do in the long run?

This. It was clue after clue after clue. There's no way in hell Bey just changed her pic to nothing because she was feeling shy or sumn like that. She is most definitely teasing something, and I still believe we'll get the awnser before Friday.

Wonder what's going on behind the scenes. The twitter hype is overstated. A lot of us don't realize trending topics are algorithmically catered to your interests and you see topics you want to see. Bey was only trending the first day for most people, but for me she has been trending for weeks before this. So I always take that with a grain of salt.

I get what you're saying but this is an artist who's last 4/5 releases were all surprise releases (ST, Lemonade, EIL, Homecoming Live Album). By now we should know she's not going to warn us and if she does it's going to be something a bit more concrete/purposeful/useful like the Lemonade (film) or Black is King trailers. Stanning means over-analyzing, sure, but does it mean being a conspiracy theorist deciding based on very, very little what is going to happen and then getting mad at her when it does not?

So I always take that with a grain of salt. beyoncé has been trending for me for weeks too, but at like 40,000K+ each time which seems like a lot, or at least it's more than any other celebrities names are listed as when I see them trending.

I must say the idea of B7 / B8 at once is thrilling. Like, releasing two albums together? that's so Beyoncé if you ask me... it's the "no one would do that" move that Beyoncé loves to execute.

Starshine Posted June 12, 2022 Posted June 12, 2022 She's 100% testing the waters after the silence from the first day. This time, something feels really off about the release strategy. It won't be a "true" surprise drop like self-titled or Everything is Love which were out of the blue. The hype is slowly dying down with the blank pfp and that "surprise" element is gone, we already know something's coming. I think she'll be following Lemonade's rollout: tour/single then album with a trailer ahead of time, just slightly diff this time. Or maybe just a trailer first. I think it would be foolish to drop a surprise album when she had the opportunity a few days ago.
