The Pure Honey ballroom part of the sure is the real climax, such an amazing part of the concert...

It also reminded me that when I first heard Pure, I waiting for her to let loose and  rude the best with an Azealia style rap on the second verse, but it never happens and then the. Song transitions into Honey :gaycat6:

I really hope the visuals comes with an album re-release with new mixes, vocals, lyrics etc

Let’s discuss the elephant in the room. Is this the most lackluster tour performance of Crazy in Love since she released the song and why is the answer yes?

wait I just realized for Houston Night 2 she sang AUIYM facing the stadium instead of Club Renaissance. when did they change that? is it because she wanted to have the teleprompter for lyrics while professionally filming the show?

that would be FWT where she performed like 30 seconds of it cause she spent 2 minutes on that wooden box singing the ballad version.

she brought back her old adlibs for this tour, i was gagged

Without a doubt.

Nothing about Ren’s version of CIL comes close to the the IAWT version of Crazy In Love nor Homecoming’s as far as accessible versions on streaming go, let alone The Experience. She seems to just go through the motions as if it’s a mere throwback, doing her strut onto the next song when it came to the Renaissance tour.

CIL is iconic and a signature song but I’d be tired of singing it too after 20 years

it needs a break - not for decades or anything but maybe just skip it for a tour

im still gonna scream like a sissy when i hear that “1 2 3 4!” and the brass tho :jonnycat:

Perhaps...I mean, she didn't give it the typical bombastic THIS IS THE MOMENT moment, BUT I will say her giving the band a moment after she stopped singing was SO good and such a highlight of the show for me. They really nailed the instrumental.

I wouldn’t be surprised if she’s been trying to skip CIL for awhile now.  Since the MCTWT she’s been trying to shorten it as much as she can.  I wouldn’t be mad if CIL gets skipped on the next tour.  It definitely needs a break.

Weirdly, AUIYM is the one song she's not flubbed any of the lyrics or phrasings. I actually think it might be one of her faves (to perform at least)

Crazy In Love does not ever need a break.

Case closed, next.

I agree, 50 Shades version was so unnecessary. it was cool for the trailer but to perform? how to botch a classic 101.

Let Hive decide it and entire setlist would be filled with deepcuts from Fighting Temptations. :deadbanana4:

I think it was fresh at the time and when she did those festival shows, but not on a world tour

I think CIL may best be served on subsequent tours if it's given the Countdown in Hold Up effect, where it suddenly dropped into the iconic horn riff and the audience feels the full bombastic surprise and release of nostalgic energy. That way she can perform just a bit of it to big effect (if that's what she wants) but still perform literally her signature song.

If she is going to repeat outfits, she should have repeated this with red heels:
