Mr. Loco Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Fearless TV is a great album!! Mr. perfectly fine should've been named among the best tracks tho Also love good 4 u, tho I would say it fits better in the 00s pop rock than the 90s one Cold heart remix is also nice, Elton slaying 5 decades later into his career... we love a musical legend, and Dua did a great job as well
Remmy Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 star-crossed is good. I swear it feels like I'm the only one that doesn't have breadwinner as one of their top tracks The other 3 are solid picks! Fearless (TV) The new tracks are all worthy additions, some of the rerecordings could've hit harder and others were great updates. || Both Lana songs are fine, not in my standouts from either album. Lost Cause never really did it for me. Have Mercy was a nice start for Chlöe's solo career Pasadena is an underappreciated bop -- and I discovered this after underappreciating it and then having it grow on me You asked for this Sister Ray and double Aly & AJ wheewwww

D/X Posted December 26, 2021 Posted December 26, 2021 Merry Christmas! Aly & AJ for sure had a surprising year. Olivia Her debut while being still a "Disney" girl was definitely shocking.

Tinashegrande6 Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Zara, Anne-Marie and Madison all had some good songs on their albums amongst the filler tbh. Love both Jazmine entries, plus Sister Ray, Good 4 U, Have Mercy and Fever. Pasadena was really overhated, it's a solid track.
TheWayWeWere Posted December 28, 2021 Author Posted December 28, 2021 since I'm flopping now, I'm gonna keep those double updates TOP 50 ALBUMS 20 Demi Lovato | Dancing with the Devil...The Art of Starting Over "Tired of being known for my sickness" Welp, this is basically Zara/Anne-Marie situation once again. I rooted for Demetria since sis served a talent with Tell Me You Love Me album, but this is not the tea This album is so messy, not in a good way. Too many tracks, little to no direction, many fillers, awful execution of 'concept'. Like, there's many standouts and some of the best tracks from her, but for what purprose was the need of fulfilling this album with questionable collabs and fillers? What on earth was these single choices? Why on earth they shaved the head after such beautiful album artwork? Choices, choices, choices The ups and downs on this album reminds me of Bionic tbh. Thankfully she didn't spend the entire record crying about her addiction and drugs, so I find some great tracks on it and bopped to a mini-playlist I made out of this record highlights: The Art Of Starting Over, Melon Cake, The Kind Of Lover I Am, California Sober, Sunset 19 Tinashe | 333 "I got money like the boys I pull up" This could've been called 'Planet Her', because of how Tinashe sis makes her own universe out of new music. I love how she created a vibe, concept and image of this era. Both experimental, but still showing some inspirations from classic r&b/hip-hop/pop music. It's full of energy, creativeness, full of spirit and self-power. Amazing step-up from her RCA days and nice follow-up to Songs for You (which I still choose as a favorite record from her). highlights: I Can See the Future, Undo (Back To My Heart), Small Reminders, It's a Wrap 18 Garbage | No Gods No Masters "Would you deceive me if I had a dick?" I didn't expect a lot from this album, mostly because no matter how I love this band, their music last decade was... not good But on No Gods No Masters I feel like they're coming close to their prime Even Shirley got her iconic red hair back. It's outspoken, brave, energetic, smartly political and vulnerable, it's chaotic in moments, but I kinda live for their energy on this album. Their best album in 15 years, very classical Garbage-sound with a nice modern twist. highlights: Uncomfortably Me, Godhead, Flipping the Bird 17 Zemfira | borderline "If you're gonna live with me I'll try to stop drinking" Russian queen of rock is back with her first album in 8 years, basically Sky Ferreira teas Not gonna write much about it, since I don't see anyone who knows her on ATRL But this is one of the major disappointments of the year, after releasing masterpiece after masterpiece from 1999, this feels like abandonment. Mostly uninspired, chaotic, messy produced and etc. I feel like she's still has IT, since there's some precious moments on the record (even though she butchered her best song since 2013 here), but I feel like she's too pretencious and diva-like now to do something interesting and great again. highlights: таблетки, пальто, жди меня, снег идёт TOP 150 SINGLES 45 JoJo | Anxiety (Burlinda's Theme) "Why you hate me?" Okay, Joanna sis just can't stop to improve her music craft more and more. Anxiety Theme is one of the stand-outs from her capsule project, capturing the desease so accurate, yet finding a way to get out of it. Music video is fucking amazing too, it hits you especially hard when you just finished 'Dopesick' series 44 Natalie Imbruglia | Build It Better "If you only knew how much it hurts" Easy highlight from her latest record, this song is instantly-catchy, Natalie kinda served her 'Golden'-moment on this. Song about ending relationships and heartbreak, but Natalie as always delivers it with her optimism and uplifting sound. 43 Anne-Marie, Little Mix | Kiss My (Uh Oh) "Why you only love me when I'm walking away?" This belongs to a list of collabs I never knew I needed in my life Like, I never ever liked Little Mix or got into their music (besides Touch), but this song is a fucking bop! I love how their vocals blend into each other, so you barely can understand who sings that or other line. And I'm fucking surprised at sampe usage. Yeah, it's generic and etc, but it's a bit of ear (and guilty) pleasure to me 42 Charli XCX | Good Ones "Don't want the kisses, unless they're bitter" I literally think only Charli is capable of making generic bop like this sounds interesting and personal! This is full-time banger and it didn't aged a day since its release. 41 Kylie Minogue | Real Groove "Do you still feel the fire?" Instand favorite from DISCO, this is perfection of europop/disco/pop. The chorus just stuck in your head, probably one of her strongest in terms of commercial potential songs in last years. BUT I kinda hate her for mistreating this single - no video, no performances, that LAME Dua remix (like, what the actual fuck? - this is one of the biggest missed opportunities this year tbh). 40 Taylor Swift | willow "I'm begging for you to take my hand, wreck my plans, that's my man" I don't know what drugs good sis put into this, but it's some kind of magical/mystikal earworm which I can't get enough of I love how it's more pop than Cardigan, but still far away from pop radio songs, that freaking guitar sound is so catchy! One of the biggest standouts from Evermore. 39 P!nk | All I Know So Far "I wish someone would have told me that this life is ours to choose" After her last lazy effort of a record, I was so pleasantly surprised how good this song is. The fact that she served one of her best songs for another complation It's beautiful, reflective and works amazing as a love letter to her fans and daughter. 38 Jessie Ware | Please "Show me you know to be sweet" I think it's a bit a miracle that Jessie was able to extend the perfect album More disco, more dance, more pleasure Please is a stunner, it's juicy, bright pop-house jam that can lift the dancefloor up 37 Jazmine Sullivan | Lost One "I know I've been nothing short of a disaster" Yep, it was released last year, but I hardly paid this attention until Heaux Tales release. Raw guitar ballad, practically in a style she never did before. I just love how emotional it is, how honest and heartbreaking she sounds, you just feel the regret in her raspy voice. Her vocals sounds more vulnerable than ever. It's simple, but effective. 36 JoJo | Worst (I Assume) "I keep assumin', you're gonna do shit that might break my heart" I just love how JoJo gets better with every one of her r&b releases, on Worst she's honest about her insecurities and ready to apologize for her actions, one of the most relatable songs from the capsule, it's brutally honest, dramatic and full of her heart. 35 Doja Cat, The Weeknd | You Right "It's just nerves, it's just dick makin' me think 'bout someone new" It was one of my instant-favorites from Planet Her, but also the first song from album I get tired of It's ear-pleasure, I love how comforting it sounds, I love how their voices work well together, it's has a bit magical dreamy sound, which works so well with album. PS: Extended version should've been main though 34 Halsey | I am not a woman, I'm a God "I just wanna feel something, tell me where to go" One of the most striking tracks from album basically puts entire concept of album into a focus. It's so sharp, raw, angry, intense - it hits you from the first listen. I also love how it kept both electropop and rock sound - production is insane. 33 London Grammar | How Does It Feel "I'll never make the same mistake" This is probably the poppiest song from the record, it acts like such a great fresh perspective for their music direction. I love how it's not generic like 'Baby It's You', it's such a beatuiful sonic experience. Production is beautiful and uplifting, while lyrics is full of regrets and heartbreak - euphoric sad anthem, which I love 32 Camila Cabello | Don't Go Yet "Baby, don't go yеt, 'cause I wore this dress for a lil' drama in the bed" I know we hate Camila on ATRL, but I can't get enough how catchy and infectious this song is. Flamenco guitar is unescapable and I just love how it's full of energy, full of instruments and ad-libs and latin music infulences. PS: music video is so Almodovar-ish, so it helps me to like this even more.
