Another REALLY strong round :chick3:

Spoiler

M.I.A. - Bad Girls: such a CVNTY classic!!!!! The combo of the middle eastern inspired hard hitting production + her spitfire delivery with a carefree bad gyal attitude is absolutely electrifying and makes me want to rob a bank

Coldplay- Clocks: One of those songs everyone knows and grew up with... the piano loop is incredibly legendary and makes the song, the two word chorus that everyone, even people across the globe who don't understand a word of english, can sing at the top of their lungs is incredibly genius, and the song just has an erudite Chronicles of Narnia royalty aspect to it that I love

Rupaul - Sissy That Walk: Makes me feel like a true FAGG0T! Honestly this is a meme song but it's actually well constructed and really catchy and quite empowering?!?

Alicia Keys - Fallin': I love this era of Alicia. The 90s R&B beats, gritty hip hop and neo-soul influence, the absolute SOUL in her vocals and lyrics I-... The way she made a masterpiece out of two chords says it all. Bonus points for making falling in love sound like a tragedy.

Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You: One of my favorite ballads ever. When the piano comes on it just gives me chills... and the beat kicking in sends me down to the floor. VERY New York which I love - it feels like a live recording of Alicia at some random smokey bar. Anticapitalism woke pop at its finest.

Alicia Keys - Diary: It's very nice. Like Bagels said you kinda suffer from coming after 2 excellent Alicia songs. But it's not my least favorite here by any means. I love the nighttime raw confessional vibe from this.

Kate Bush - Babooshka: YES for non-HOL Kate in these games. I love how she writes, how she tells a story - how she makes a man falling out of love with his aging wife and her plotting to catch him betraying her by masquerading as a young woman sound like a wiccan ritual at 3AM on a forest. Every Kate song is truly a performance, and I can't not picture her going from a black cloth and veil to a warrior princess armor as soon as the chorus kicks in.

Bjork - Joga: One of her best songs and still one of the weakest in this round. I really love the dramatic strings but Bjork kinda ruins every production she's in.

Paula Abdul - Straight Up: Major underrated classic. Very fun while also being aggressive

Yeah, I agree this was another strong round with no bad songs at all. Good luck, ladies.

Spoiler

M.I.A. - Bad Girls - It’s no Come Around but still a cute middle easter/arabic moment of whatever.

Coldplay - Clocks - Oop a straight classic I fear, the salsa version outsold tho :katie2:

Rupaul - Sissy That Walk - *** classic, the breakdown is a cute dissonant experimental moment :velmaserve:

Alicia Keys - Fallin' - One of her best songs, the vocals and the bridge are immaculate.

Alicia Keys - If I Ain't Got You - Overplayed but I still like it a bit, she served raw emotion in the chorus.

Alicia Keys - Diary - One of my favorites from this album I love the chill jazzy vibe

Kate Bush - Babooshka - Massive camp classic.

Bjork - Joga - Stunning classic, the string are beyond beautiful and the electronic production really transport me :winnie:

Paula Abdul - Straight Up -  A very cute 80s bop but it doesn't hit very hard compared to some of the classics this round :chick3:
