Staryu - 10 - I'm glad someone picked this song, it was the most obvious choice since the sample song was MH&MH. I was expecting something, like, badly produced because High Road is an awful album, but this was so... pretty to listen to. It conveys the round theme excellently; Kesha grasps the desperation of wanting to stay but wanting to leave at the same time. You did really well. Buddy! - 8.5 - Aw, yeah this is pretty cute. Hits the theme but not right on the head, maybe on the shaft I guess. thecptz - 9 - yea i feel like this works for the theme and it fits the brief that we wanted in this round. The bridge really hit the theme on the head so great job! Staryu - 9 - This song works great, starting with the first verse and on the bridge, I feel like those parts fit the theme perfectly. Lauryn Hill - Ex-Factor Astro - 9.5 - Ahhhhh, Ms. Late to Her Shows Because Her Birthday Party, Which Was Yesterday, Had Bad Vibes. It's a great song, a classic, you know, the usual stuff for a song of this caliber. It really conveys the theme of this round well, much akin to the Kesha song. That back and forth element that really just captures and entices the listener. I love Lauryn's voice so she just adds so much emotion and umff to it. Buddy! - 9 - Girl this CLASSIC. Great song and fits the theme solidly. thecptz - 10 - oh yup! This also fits the theme well tbh.. I love the back and forth in the song, it rlly shows that she is struggling and keeps going back and forth on wanting to let her lover go and let her lover come right back. Nice work. Staryu - 8.5 - This is definitely about conflict in a relationship, there is a back and forth struggle represented, it mostly works for the theme for me. Miley Cyrus - Angels Like You Astro - 7 - I think, overall, this is a gorgeous song. It's very emotional and her best ballad lbr. However, despite that being said, this song suffers from an inconsistency in the theme. Miley knows this is going to end rather than being stuck between that. She's more so dealing with her internal conflict of ruining people rather than debating with leaving someone or staying with them. Buddy! - 7 - She pretty much knows the relationship is going to end. Not quite within theme but it works. thecptz - 7 - yea just like my fellow judges said.. The problem with this is that she knows it’s gonna end from the beginning and more of dealing with herself rather than with the relationship. Staryu - 7.5 - I feel like Miley already knows the relationship isn't going to last from the beginning, she's self-destructive even though she's happy. There's an internal struggle but little uncertainty about what she’s going to do. Marina and the Diamonds - I'm a Ruin Astro - 7.5 - Miss Marina knows the outcome of this relationship, she knows what's going to happen. But in the end, she's still fighting herself over it (even though a decision has been made). Kinda pointless Marina, but go off I guess. Buddy! - 7 - She knows she’s toxic (me) and that she’s not right for her partner. But she doesn't wanna say goodbye? Chile make up ya mind. thecptz - 7 - this kinda feels the same with angels like you to me :/ Staryu - 8 - I feel like there isn't much uncertainty about what's going to happen to this relationship either but Marina's lyrics do go back and forth about wanting to stay, so it works for the theme in that way. Ciara - Never Ever (feat. Jeezy) Astro - 9 - This captures the theme perfectly, imo. Being stuck in that limbo of do I stay, should I go, and so forth. You did what you had to do. Buddy! - 9 - Yup she’s going through it in this relationship. thecptz - 9 - while listening to this, i was like damn.. Poor miss thing. This relationship is hard for her and its a struggle indeed. Staryu - 9 - The uncertainty is here, she's not sure if the love is there, and she says she has to let him go but she doesn't want to, so the struggle is real (in more ways than one for her tbh). John Legend - Ordinary People Astro - 6 - I get less of a should I stay or should I go mindset from this than I feel like I'm supposed to. This is less about the decision itself and more like, "yes, we're going to last!" Idk, I just don't sense a conflict. Buddy! - 5 - Yeah it really just reads as though John wants this relationship to last, even through the ups and downs. If anything, it’s more about his partner unsure of what to do. thecptz - 6 - i mean i can see the uncertainty in this song but its more like he has made up his mind that he’s going to take it slow and prays that it’s gonna work out happily rather than choosing if he wants to go on in the relationship or just let it over. Good song tho. Staryu - 7 - I feel like John doesn't know if the relationship will last forever or end tomorrow, I don't think he wants it to end, he definitely wants it to work out. Ending things doesn't even seem like an option based on the lyrics, so it kinda works but kinda doesn't for me. Selena Gomez - The Heart Wants What it Wants Astro - 8.5 - Ultimately, she's made her decision, but it's littered with doubts of will it work. Almost perfect. Buddy! - 7 - Fits pretty well. thecptz - 7.5 - yea i can see the uncertainty across the song but she just made up her mind anyways so like missing something, ya. Staryu - 8.5 - This song mostly works for me, the future of the relationship is very uncertain, she knows the relationship is toxic but she's staying for now anyway. Gabrielle - Should I Stay Astro - 9.5 - Kii, this is very blunt and on the nose for the round. I **** with it. Buddy! - 9 - Yeah this pretty much hits the theme right on the head. BONK! thecptz - 9.5 - yup, its very there. The only thing that makes me not give it a 10 is i feel really eh about this song, giggles. Staryu - 10 - This song works perfectly for the theme, the lyrics are all about the struggle of what she should do in her relationship. Coco Jones & Tyler James Williams - Me and You Astro - 5 - ....Is this really the best you could do? Buddy! - 5 - Verses don’t add up mama. Quite basic, too. thecptz - 5 - i’m confused but at least it somehow mentions the theme a lil bit. Staryu - 5.5 - The chorus of this song is great for the theme but the verses are really not, they’re just telling a story that is basically Cyrano de Bergerac? FINAL RESULTS INCOMING!!
