She Works Hard For The Money - it's a cute fun bop! it does go on for a bit too long imo.

Wonderful Life - i actually really, really enjoyed this. very pretty!

Animal Instinct - it's very cute.

My Favorite Part - i'm pretty sure this only got sent because of Ariana's feature fff. Such a boring Mac pick. Blue World would have been a candidate for my #1.

Gloria - hugeeeee classic, too bad you sent a banned letter :chick3:

Somebody to Love - yup, amazing song. it wouldn't have been my Queen pick though.

A Natural Woman - Aretha has a lot of amazing songs, but this is THE Aretha classic for me. Love it sm.

Respect - very cute!

MacArthur Park - absolute classic

Wake Me Up - YUPPPPPPPPPPPP. The amount of classics this man made in such a short time. Great pick :clap3:

Think - probably the weakest Aretha song here, but still good!

On The Moon - it's cute

This Will Be - absolutely!

Donna Summer - She Works Hard For The Money

it’s a classic yeah, I love it

Black - Wonderful Life

I really really liked this actually, saved to my playlist

The Cranberries - Animal Instinct

very very nice, she was such a gorgeous vocalist :cries:

Mac Miller - My Favorite Part

it’s just not that good

Laura Branigan - Gloria

it’s such a classic but the banned letter in the comeback round… that’s gotta hurt

Queen - Somebody to Love

it’s not one of my favorite songs by them, but I do enjoy it still

Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

shoot me for saying this but I actually prefer Carole’s version of this song, this is alright

Aretha Franklin - Respect

now this is a classic I fear, but this round is tough competition

Donna Summer - MacArthur Park

ahhh it’s amazing yessssss

Avicii - Wake Me Up

oh good god no

Aretha Franklin - Think

such a powerful song, very enjoyable

SULLI - On The Moon

this is very nice as well

Natalie Cole - This Will Be

save the best for last huh??? :jonny5:

I'm sorry idk who to tag for this round so I'm just copying this from OP lmao

donna summer - she works hard for the money

honestly, this is a really fun track! i’d love to go to a club and dance to this <3 it might be a bit too long but most 80s songs are kinda lengthy, which tends to be an issue for me because most songs don’t switch it up and it just gets repetitive and monotonous. it is good, i like it!

black - wonderful life

sounds like a very cinematic, bittersweet closing song to a tv show. i do like it but i kinda feel like the production makes the song a little too campy which takes away from the sentiment that it’s trying to convey. idk idk :/

the cranberries - animal instinct

this is very pretty and bright. i do really love the vibe of this one, i’d like to run a field while this plays. i love the rock elements that blend so well with these light pop melodies. it’s very charming and uplifting

mac miller - favorite part

see? this was what i was talking about on my wonderful life critique. i think this song really really works because the delivery, the direction and the sentiment is congruent to the production of the song. i’m not too big on mac miller but i’ve always liked this song and tbh i tend to play it a lot when i’m making breakfast which is oddly specific

laura branigan - gloria

this is cute! did miley and dua sample that synth melody on prisoner? it’s the first thing that came to mind. i’m sorry you went with a vanished letter :(

queen - somebody to love

they’re iconic but i’ve never being a fan of their songs that overuse the choir like voices. i really liked the verses but i felt like the more they incorporated these choirs we’d get to a higher energy climax and it just stayed there which i didn’t really enjoy. i feel like the choirs were only needed on the last portion of the song

aretha franklin - (you make me feel like) a natural woman

hmm, i’ve never been much of a fan of this song specifically. i find it boring and, to me, it doesn’t matter how powerful her voice is if the song bores me:/

aretha franklin - respect

this is fun! a better aretha song in my opinion, love her take on gospel. her energy is very contagious ~nobody knows what it means but it gets people going~

donna summer - macarthur park

runner up!!! great song!!

avicii - wake me up

there was a time in 2013 where i didn’t have access to internet nor did i have a pc or phone. so i remember that i’d turn on the radio at home just to wait for this song to come on. i love the country elements here, it actually doesn’t sound as dated as i would’ve thought. i didn’t expect this but i still like it A LOT

aretha franklin - think

the best aretha song this round imo!! love her energy here and i can’t help it but wanting to dance alone in my kitchen

sulli - on the moon

this captivated me at first and i thought it was going to be better than how it actually end up being. it was nice and there was a very melancholic feeling in some parts of it but that would come and go, so i wish that emotionality was more prominent throughout the song :c

natalie cole - this will be

winner!!! amazing song!!!

Donna Summer - She Works Hard For The Money

this is kinda amazing... already set the bar high yup

Black - Wonderful Life

this is very lovely, I enjoyed this sm

The Cranberries - Animal Instinct

wonderful sing, this matches my energy. I might save it to my playlist or sumn

Mac Miller - My Favorite Part

I really enjoyed this one. I might listen to it again when I’m in a mood

Laura Branigan - Gloria

Uggggh this CLASSIC :jonny5: This got me singing along all the way through. Tbh I would risk sending this with the vanished letter cause it’s so good

Queen - Somebody to Love

another classic that I love, these songs will be hard to rank f

Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

aaaah this classic :jonny5:

Aretha Franklin - Respect

this classic [4] :jonny5:

Donna Summer - MacArthur Park

this kinda ate the other Donna song up hold on

Avicii - Wake Me Up

this sticks out like a sore thumb when you look at the playlist, but this holds up really well after all these years, especially for an EDM bop

Aretha Franklin - Think

Not three Aretha sings in one round... and they’re all good. However, this one is short and I need more :jonny2:

SULLI - On The Moon

Her voice is very lovely, but this sing is kinda average for me sorry :monkey:

Natalie Cole - This Will Be

A bop and a good way to end this round

The best round me thinks

Donna Summer - She Works Hard For The Money

love this lil cute disco moment but that was it for me :/

its not that memorable.. a bit too long and it got so boring towards the end, sorry :emofish:

Black - Wonderful Life

its beautiful umm i'm trying to find a way to compliment this song because its kinda hard screams

i mean its cute and like its a good background song to be opened when you do something and need a song in a background!!!

The Cranberries - Animal Instinct

omg this is sooo cute :smitten: like its actually my favorite out of the first 3~

i love her voice and this song is so good so there's that!

Mac Miller - My Favorite Part

ooooh i like this. i was jamming the whole song.. i felt a bit weird about his voice but i enjoyed it

and even though its not the best of the group, its memorable in a good way unlike some other songs here!

Laura Branigan - Gloria

screams the physical rip-off. but omg i actually like it.. its such an enjoyable listen

even though her name has um a banned letter, still its a nice experience listening to this :jamming:

Queen - Somebody to Love

i never rlly like this song tbh :/ ik that its a classic and yes, the power that this has

but in my opinion, i'm just not rlly a fan of this song hmm

Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

ABSOLUTELY. my favorite aretha song and this is just soooo emotional :weeps:

and its so sweet.. like her voice in this song just tells us this beautiful story.. GOD!!! i just love this song so much.

Aretha Franklin - Respect

exactly. tell them that they need to respect you!!! go off aretha WHEWWWW

i'm so happy that you guys managed to send all aretha classics <3 what a bop, love it.

Donna Summer - MacArthur Park

pls another lsfyl classic in this round :jamming: this is such a bop

i think there are stronger songs here but its not bad at all like i enjoyed listening to it and thats all that matters!

Avicii - Wake Me Up

bagels made some points when he said addicted to you >>>>> cause its true..

had you sent addicted to you, you would have gotten so much higher placement from me.

this is very meh and i'm not feeling it :/

Aretha Franklin - Think

yesss another classic from miss aretha :weeps: this is prob my least favorite out of the 3 aretha songs sent this round

but still, its LOTS better than some other songs so nice job!

SULLI - On The Moon

:'( the beginning of the song is very beautiful and so stunning..

i like the song less than when it started as it went on BUT its good and very cute :lakitu:

Natalie Cole - This Will Be

ABSOLUTELY. welcome back to the competition babes :heart2:

idk who sent in entries so i'm just gonna copy op's taglist <3

Donna Summer — She Works Hard For the Money

I Feel Love would’ve probably been my #1 this round, but this was cute!

Black — Wonderful Life

I’m guessing it’s a classic? I didn’t find anything wrong with it, but it didn’t engage me much either.

The Cranberries — Animal Instinct

Hmmm… I enjoyed the other songs from them submitted this season so far more, which I guess would be why people would think of those ones first.

Mac Miller f/ Ariana Grande — My Favorite Part

Unfamiliar with this music but this was a lovely listen. They made some lovely stuff together!

Laura Branigan — Gloria

Quite cute. I could see how this was huge in its time, but it’s not something I’d check out.

Queen — Somebody to Love

A classic for sure. I would’ve preferred Another One Bites the Dust, but even then, from the songs in this list I already know, I don’t think I could’ve ranked them high enough for a comeback.

Aretha Franklin — (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

Loving all the Aretha choices here. A bit bummed Chain of Fools wasn’t submitted since it’s my favorite from her, but you absolutely can’t go wrong with this.

Aretha Franklin — Respect

I mean... zero cons of this.

Donna Summer — MacArthur Park

The intro & outro of this give me the chills every listen. Well done!

Avicii — Wake Me Up

God, haven’t listened to this in ages but it’s stood the test of time for me. Something about it still makes it feel fresh, can’t put my finger on it.

Aretha Franklin — Think

My favorite of the three Aretha submissions & probably my favorite submission this round.

SULLI — On the Moon

Nice pickup in the middle of the song. I’d love hearing this in a café, etc., but I don’t think I’d check it out on my own.

Natalie Cole — This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)

Pretty bright/shimmery, especially the brass which I’m loving. This’ll probably end up in the middle of my rankings because of how strong the round is but this is still a lovely choice!

Donna Summer - She Works Hard For The Money: Okay bop!

Black - Wonderful Life: Mehh not really feeling it

The Cranberries - Animal Instinct: I liked this quite a bit :jamming:

Mac Miller - My Favorite Part: This is really nice

Laura Branigan - Gloria: I see why you sent this but I find it annoying and it’s banned anyway so!

Queen - Somebody to Love: Glee ****ing washed this, I HATEEEE his theater kid voice so much. The other elements of the song are good though

Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman: How did she only die in 2018? Her music feels ancient. All respect to her but you might as well have sent this song

Aretha Franklin - Respect: Same as the first Aretha song, though this is catchier

Donna Summer - MacArthur Park: I like it. It’s Christmas-y!

Avicii - Wake Me Up: Huge classic, super catchy and fun especially after some of the (literal) dustiness before it :rip: idk why so many people have been hating on it omg

Aretha Franklin - Think: Okay this one is actually decent

SULLI - On The Moon: You should’ve sent Goblin but this is good too. RIP queen :weeps:

Natalie Cole - This Will Be: Love this!!

Donna Summer - She Works Hard For The Money

An OG Donna Summer song, nice. This one - I'd say - is probably her best...and maybe better than Hot Stuff? Not sure.

Black - Wonderful Life

I mean, it's not bad. Is that a steel drum I'm hearing? Anyways, not bad, super chill - idk how it compares to other stuff.

The Cranberries - Animal Instinct

I've actually never heard this song before, and it's pretty solid! My one complaint is that it doesn't really go anywhere? Like compared to Zombie, it's just different.

Mac Miller - My Favorite Part

This song is just...a vibe. Straight up vibe. I like how Ariana complements the song and doesn't take over too tbh.

Laura Branigan - Gloria

I remember when this was trending because of something related to Trump and how he played it at a rally or some BS. The estate HATED that, and yeah, I would too because no one wants a good song desecrated like that to that man.

Queen - Somebody to Love

YES. YES. YES. YES. YES.

Aretha Franklin - (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman

CLASSIC. We love it.

Aretha Franklin - Respect

Another classic. Also a good one.

Donna Summer - MacArthur Park

Classic...but not my thing. She Works Hard for the Money is better for me.

Avicii - Wake Me Up

His death was probably one of the most tragic for me, as a major fan of his. I love the song (even if it's overdone), so well done.

Aretha Franklin - Think

I kinda wish this song got more coverage, compared to Respect tbh. Also so much Aretha! Luckily, all the songs are good.

SULLI - On The Moon

This is nice. Not my thing but still nice.

Natalie Cole - This Will Be

OH the song that every movie uses ever. It's good though!

Overall, it's a solid round, but selfishly, I wanted some more Queen or some David Bowie.

She Works Hard for the Money - Donna rarely missed during this period of time. I love this, great way to start the round.

Wonderful Life - It's okay. Very one note.

Animal Instinct - I've disliked all 3 songs sent by them. No, thanks.

My Favorite Part - Funky, groovy and sooooooo warm. His vocal performance/range doesn't quite fit this song though.

Gloria - My favorite song this round. Pure 80s bliss.

Somebody to Love - Much respect and love for Mr. Freddy, but I can't stand their music.

You Make Me Feel - Carole King ate this song up. Cozy Sunday realness. Aretha's vocal performance is stunning, as always.

Respect - I always found this one a bit annoying.

MacArthur Park - The longer the version of this song, the better  an absolute masterpiece.

Wake Me Up - Don't care for this.

Think - It's okay, but quite unmemorable.

On The Moon - Legend. I love that her music was more kooky and on the art side.

This Will Be - So blissful. Love this.

idk who sent so i'll copy baby z's taglist
