katycat737 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 given her prior success...only katy's high standards

peterstyles13 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) The song is doing ok in Europe but is hugely underperforming in North America, Ocenania and Asia. Why do Kats call this a "global smash" if it only did relatively ok in one continent? I can't with ATRL's eurocentrism. Europe doesn't equal the world. Iwas a moderate hit in Europe, not a moderate hit "worldwide". More than half of the world population lives in Asia where the single is basically unknown. Y'all need to stop. Billboard was right. LP54 Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 It is fair to be honest with ourselves in that it did underperform in the US. I wouldn't call it a flop but it wasn't a smash either.
Quaithe Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 I can't see how this is a celebration for other fan bases when the song is basically falling pretty hard *in the US* since debut, against all the crazy Spotify promo and performances on major music events...yes it had a great start yet it's been losing momentum very quickly especially as a lead single it's a very bad sign. OT: let's just wish her good luck and I look forward to her real lead single to storm the charts.
taylor__fan Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 From 69 consecutives week in the top 10 to beig happy with being 9 weeks in the top 30 The decline I hope the next song smashed, she deserves it
ToxicKat Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 (edited) I mean it's not a smash but I don't think it flopped? Even the video is about to reach 200 million views and it's been what? 2 months since it's release? and like I said before compared to some pop girls lead single videos that were released last year that haven't even gone VEVO certified, then I don't think it's doing that bad. The video is doing fine and the song did its job globally. Put her name out there again even though it won't be remembered in years Hopefully the next single smashes if not then she'll have her first flop era which is likely to happen if Goddess is the next single. It's ok, I don't care if she flops. She'll flop moderately anyways Edited April 24, 2017 by ToxicKat
Lover Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Ifumes ww #7 and europe #4 after 73 days. the new definition of flop.

The USA music has taken an ugly turn. We need our pop girls to stay strong and steer it away from this trend. Hmm, funny. Her last hit was urban. Maybe the pop girls should just deliver.

6_INCH_HEELS Posted April 24, 2017 Posted April 24, 2017 Of course. Not every song is going to smash. Why are people so excited about her underperforming single?
