FantasyRide Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 well yeah, it underperformed for HER standards, as in it wasn't a huge #1 smash that spent months within the top 10 like everything else she puts out. That aside, it's performed fairly well.
MrCookiepants Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Yes, and let's not forget Rise. That one is easy to forget, though. She's on a downward trend. The next single will determine the rest of her career. If she flops again she's donezo. She relies on hits more than any other pop star. Without them she kinda just collapses. Rihanna used to be in that position too, but she held on long enough to reach icon status.
Princedele25 Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Just now, Mariano said: yes and more than a month later it was still top 5 on itunes without ANY promo and with no radio payola or spotify payola. So .. ? How would u explain why CTTR is outside top 25 ? OT: BB needs to stop. Super Bowl and its +100m audience their power.

You mean Gaga her power, considering no one before for 60 years had this type of boost 1-2 months later and the song still top 5 with minimal radio airplay and NO promo. Glad you agree about Gaga's enormous power

Roberto Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 That happens when you release ****ty songs. JK, of course it underperformed, what's the surprise? Waiting for Bon Apetit to be her 10 #1, btw.

Optimus Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 Now I'm really curious to see how her second single will do. When its coming out kats?
hardbrit Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 A top 5 basically everywhere is an underperformance?
Thor Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 (edited) Yeah, it was a huge underperformance. I hope the 2nd single does better. Edited April 23, 2017 by Thor

Cute fanfiction, it was top 5 in like 5 countries and didnt last more than a month inside the top 10's which is very bad Considering her fans stating several times that it would SHATTER the charts

Movimento Perpétuo Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 I love Katy but she deserved it. CTTR is her worst single to date, as long with TIHWD. No way this is a lead single material
YR. Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 This isn't a ww hit, no matter how hard the kats want to push this narrative
Mariano Posted April 23, 2017 Posted April 23, 2017 2 hours ago, Jwoww310 said: Don't get why some stans keep trying with MR vs CTTR when the real tea is PI vs CTTR. selective memory. We'll how 2nd single works for KP. OT: for some other girls these stats would've been good, and they are even for Katy but CTTR just felt like non event at all and forgettable. Mess at your selective memory too. It should be CtTR vs Applause. 4th lead singles.
