BB: Katy's CTTR underperformed

Mess at your selective memory too. It should be CtTR vs Applause. 4th lead singles.

How is a single released in 2013 comparable to a single released in 2017? :toofunny2:

Some of you are truly dense. The only thing that can be fairly compared are current eras, and when comparing CTTR to PI, we all know which one is the bigger underperformance (to say the least) :fan:

OT: BB was shady with that article :lipton:

Sorry, you're right.

We got this so far:

Just Dance #1 - I Kissed A Girl #1

Bad Romance #2 - California Gurls #1

Born This Way #1 - Roar #1

Applause # 4 - Chained To The Rhythm #4

Perfect Illusion #15...

So CTTR peaking at #4 ain't that bad.

In the US, it absolutely did. It went on to become a moderate hit, while everyone expected a smash, since it's a Katy lead

Worldwide, and especially across Europe, it did very well.

It definitely underperformed everywhere tho.... Not comparable to any of her first or second singles...

It underperformed everywhere though, in europe it was only a moderate hit....

What's the point of this thread? Is atrl is getting paid for this?

"Is CTTR really a flop" was posted already - a week or so ago - with many of us stating it's an underperformance.

The thread was subsequently closed because a lot of atrlers can't behave themselves. Do we really need one of BB's writers to print something we've already concluded for ourselves?

Outsourcing facts like this just widely proves how fickle the majority of people are here, especially those incapable of having a discussion and posting their own opinions. Friendly reminder that atrl is a website and for it to prosper on its own, one must allow it to have a voice rather than regurgitating information from everyone else.

Cue error 525.

Why was the #4 Peaking called a Hit (One Week) and CTTR is an underperfoming peaking at the same position?

I know most of the Katycats were too arrogant about it but charts peaks are decent then in the other hand we have its charts run and... Next single please.

The real definition of a quick little single... Flop in the US and oceania and moderate hit in Europe.

The dramatics :toofunny3: It was a top 5 single, a moderate hit and an underperformance by Katy's huge standards. And a big hit in Europe.

Going by your logic it should be:

I Kissed a Girl vs Just Dance

Cali Gurls vs Bad Romance

Part of Me vs Born This Way

ROAR vs Applause

CTTR vs Perfect Illusion

And you should compare it to Gaga's fourth, Joanne. :cm:

I'd say it was a moderate hit too as well. But I don't see the big deal, she had a lot of hits in her career, so if a song or two don't match up to her #1/top 10 hot 100 chartings, I don't think it's a big deal
