Kelly Clarkson was the biggest Hot 100 artist of 2005.

 

• Clarkson had four top tens and the most weeks in the top ten.

 

• Carey had two top tens, despite “WBT/SIO” and how massive they were. 

She also had the third biggest album of 2005.

 

Overall, her points weighed higher than Carey’s.

It’s crazy! Others have released multiple albums, promoted almost everywhere while this biatch does the bare minimum and yet, still manages to WIN. I see why the OAHs are constantly pressed! She just refuses to go away and we LOVE to see it!

There is a dedicated top 10 list since 2006 that you can find here.
But pre-2006, I was only able to find the top 5, which is why I limited the entire list in the OP to top 5 only.
