Introducing the River Styx! In Greek mythology, this eerie body of water forms the boundary between Earth and the Underworld. While castaways have been voted out of their tribe, they have not been fully cast into the depths of Hades. They were sent to the River Styx for a chance to compete to re-enter the game at the merge. They dueled at the River Styx where the loser of the challenge will be sent to the Underworld, which is final, to officially be a member of the pre-jury. The challenges were those of the main game (where the judges score your song choice based on a theme anonymously), but anything could happen in the afterlife! This redemption opportunity was TOP SECRET. So no, there was no Edge of Extinction nor will there ever be an Edge of Extinction. Someone is about to come back into this game as the TWELFTH member of Paradeisos, but first...a recap!

Let's get started. Each competitor had to submit three separate songs for three different pictures without any descriptions. The better the song was to the picture, the higher the score was. You could've definitely gone with something a bit more generic, but this adds a more... cinematic feel, albeit a bad 90s movie, but still. Bruno Mars - Long Distance - 8: It isn't bad, per se, but it's just overally so generic to me and doesn't hit like the previous song. It tries to go for the safe effect, but it falls flat in comparison. Sorry, I'm not sorry. Hannah Montana - I'll Always Remember You - 7.5: ....Why? Could you not think of literally ANYTHING else? Whatever. Lyrically, it's relatively fine if you look past this is built on Miley saying bye to Hannah. It's... Not for me. clue: The Clash - Should I Stay or Should I Go 10 - This is pretty perfect. You can see the frustration on the guy’s face in the photo, and the narrator in the lyrics has that same frustration. Bruno Mars - Long Distance 8 - OMG. I didn’t know Bruno wrote this song, but upon listening to it again, it’s so obvious. So this felt like the girl in the photos’ feelings long after the guy has departed. It’s an interesting take. Hannah Montana - I’ll Always Remember You 7.5 - A little cheesy and immature for the photo imo. Dylan: Clash - 8 - This is an interesting take on the picture though I don’t really get the idea they’re in an up and down relationship. Props. Bruno - 7.5 - This describes the situation they’re in well but not so much the picture? The picture is more of a goodbye but the song talks about being so far in the present. Also don’t do Brandy like this ever again! Miley - 9.5 - Wow, I forgot how hard the Hannah Montana Forever soundtrack went. I could see if it was more pain oriented but Ultraviolence is really grim lyrically and just doesn't work with this picture in any interpretation for me. I could see a toxic relationship, yeah, that much can be there because it feels like kissing a cactus, I guess. But the rest? No. P!nk - True Love - 8: I mean, she does list all the negatives and paints her lover in a, well, really bad light. She does imply they're very mean to her and don't care about her feelings and are essentially purely negative. So I guess it works best compared to Ultraviolence. Nature's Love - 7: I... guess? I don't really... See it, but I also am kind of like, I guess it's glorifying and romanticizing nature enough to compare to kissing something prickly? With cacti, they're a bit more hurtful because of their exterior so I think the song could be a bit more negative, but they're also beautiful in their own right. Beautiful enough to kiss, I guess. clue: Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence 9.5 - It’s a kii for this song to go along with a photo of a kid, but it’s pretty much exactly what I had in mind. He hurts her, but she loves him even more for it. It’s twisted. P!NK - True Love 10 - This song had enough whimsy to go along with the lightheartedness of the photo. Oh WOW. Nature’s Love 5 - So the only reason this works is because he’s hugging a plant. There was no acknowledgment of the pain that the kid is inflicting on himself by hugging an actual cactus with prickly thorns. Dylan: Lana Dylan - 8.5 - I get more of a cutesy vibe from this picture but this darker take certainly works. Being enticed by someone or something dangerous. P!nk Dylan - 10 - Omg first song I thought of! You’re an assh*le, but I love you! Nature Dylan - 5 - This literally works but I feel the greater theme of this picture really went over your head. supaspaz: Lana del Rey - Ultraviolence - 10 P!nk - True Love - 2 Nature's Love - 8 ROUND 2 AVERAGES 1. Now, with August and Jada on the red carpet being so open and Miss Latfiah giving the "mhm they ****ing face," this could work so well sldkfjksdklfg. I don't know what it is, but this song works so well for this picture. It heightens how much the picture makes me wanna scream. Mtume - You, Me & He - 10: So Jada Pinkett Smith in a song, I see. Yup. They’re literally going out for a public affair (as in a public party/gathering), but it also means that she’s going out to cheat on someone? It’s not clear enough for me, but if I’m right, it’s a brilliant choice. Mtume - You, Me & He 10 - I couldn’t have asked for more. Pleasure P - Boyfriend #2 10 - This is from August’s point of view. I also couldn’t have asked for more. Dylan: Jessica - 8.5 - I thought this was ridiculous at first but I actually totally see why you sent this given the first verse and bridge. “I got the green light to do whatever I want”. I wouldn’t say this is a smasher but it’s certainly interesting and the title of the song is a hoot given recent developments. The references to the cameras. It all works in a weird way. Mtume - 7.5 - I guess this could capture the emotional dynamic between Jada and Will but it wasn’t really a love triangle per se. This works but I’m not in love with it.
