ATRL Moderator Element Posted July 7, 2020 ATRL Moderator Posted July 7, 2020 OUTWIT defined as "deceive or defeat by greater ingenuity"... this is all about using your brain and thoughts to advance and manipulate others, whether through social or strategic gameplay The Lion Guard - We’re the Smartest Clue - 9 - The best line: “When it comes to scheming / We know what to do” Dylan - 7.5 - They're bragging about their wit which works well but there’s not much manipulation going on besides a few lines. Supaspaz - 7 - The jackals’ insistence that the hyenas could never trick them fits the theme well. More of that direct comparison could have elevated this further. Touya kinomoto - 7 - It cutely fits the theme. The smarts part is there. It’s just missing the bit where the actual winning through smarts is shown. Havok - Intention To Deceive Clue - 10 - This is twisted and perfect. Dylan - 9 - This is more on the money than the other two entries. Supaspaz - 8 - There’s certainly manipulation here, but I’m not seeing a whole lot of ingenuity. This is a brainwashing anthem. Touya kinomoto - 10 - This is just perfect. It clearly shows how mind games work. Great choice! (Element: IDK how this didn't get like a 3 honestly) Lion King - Be Prepared Clue - 9 - Pretty great. Although, it wasn’t the easiest to follow along with since it was made for dialogue purposes in a movie. Dylan - 8 - I like the “just listen to teacher” line a lot on this one. It works. Supaspaz - 8.5 - How did we end up with two Lion King-related songs this week? Random! This one works better, because we hear Scar convincing the hyenas to do his bidding as the song goes along. That said, it didn’t take a shred of wit on his part. He just told them what to do and they complied. Touya kinomoto - 10 - Oh perry. The best Disney villain song did THAT. ADRESTIA is currently in danger.

The end goal of Survivor is to make it past everyone else. Destiny's Child - Survivor Clue - 10 - Thank you *Tatiana voice* Dylan - 10 - Yup. The music video itself could have been shot by a Survivor crew. Supaspaz - 10 - You know I'm not gon' diss you on the internet…’cause Ann Marie Lastrassi and friends did that! Touya kinomoto - 10 - A great song and a great choice The Phantoms - Fight For My Survival Clue - 10 - Perfect. Dylan - 10 - The exact vibe I was expecting/wanting from this task. Supaspaz - 8 - I wish it was more clear who or what he’s trying to survive. The references to “my friend, we both know how this will end” and “I’m gonna be the last one standing” suggest a battle with another person. But otherwise, it could be about any generic struggle. Touya kinomoto - 10 - A great song and a great choice [2] Last One Standing - Simple Plan Clue - 10 - The best out of the bunch. Dylan - 8 - A little mopey but it does what needs to be done. Supaspaz - 8 - I cannot follow this plot at all. It sounds like he was betrayed by a friend, and then it completely loses me. What is he fighting for? Nevertheless, the lyrics, while nonsensical, address the theme directly. Touya kinomoto - 10 - A great song and a great choice [3] No major change. ADRESTIA is still in danger.

You are able to adapt to the game's twists and turns well. Irving Berlin - Anything You Can Do Clue - 9.5 - I mean.. it’s about beating the competition and being the best. She’s topping him throughout the entire song. Dylan - 9.5 - Queen sh*t. Supaspaz - 10 - A bullseye. It couldn’t have been more on target with the theme if Annie Oakley had shot it herself. Touya kinomoto - 8 - Srsly, I don’t know about this. There are some points in the song where the female wins some of the argument but there are also where it is unsettled. We As Human - Strike Back Clue - 8 - This one kinda muddied things and managed to mix outplaying with surviving. It’s not as strong. Dylan - 6 - Treads too far into survival for me. Supaspaz - 4 - So the Christian metal band is...outplaying Satan? Touya kinomoto - 7 - idk about this one too. It’s more about fighting back than completely winning. Better Than You - Buckshot Clue - 10 - “Line em' up watch how fast my competitors fall” yup yup yup. Dylan - 9 - Worst song ever made but it works well lyrically. Supaspaz - 8 - The irony of bragging you outshine the competition with these dusty ass rhymes. Touya kinomoto - 8.5 - It fits the theme better than the two others but not a perfect fit. Also it is not a great song ngl. Final results coming up.
