The official WW receipts don’t lie. Stop embarrassing yourself :priceless:

Shallow is a WW smash no matter how you embarrassed yourself to deny it :rip:

OT: 6 weeks in top 10 and one week #1, who else but the one and only Oscar and Grammy winner, Lady Gaga :jonny5:

Adele?

but anyways Shallow is clearly the biggest global smash of the past several months. Especially taking into account how a lot of its appeal and  success is stifled by how the charts are now geared towards a YOUNG streaming market. A lot of Shallows success is down to an older age group who dont get fair representation in todays chart system. Not just in the US but globally. Streaming is where the power now lies.

Does 7 Rings secure another week at #1?

For sure. She's having 2 7-weeks number-one smashes.

Shallow in the top 10 still?  I was told it was going to freefall after the Oscars.  Yet again, ATRL proves it knows NOTHING :ahh:

Last I checked, that song doesn't have a Grammy, Oscar, Critic's Choice award of BAFTA

Are people making videos of themselves singing 7 Rings? Are churches singing 7 Rings? Are kids in Kenya recreating anything having to do with 7 Rings?

writing's on the wall winning a globe and an oscar didn't magically turn it into a hit, just like having awards doesn't intrinsically make shallow more of a hit

Why can't we let Italian excellence dominate the charts in harmony? Shallow & 7 Rings are both huge smashes and stan wars won't change that like get over yourselves already...

Kinda unfair how Shallow is the most well-balanced hit but its barely in the top 10, I think Billboard needs to adjust its formula a little bit.

Being well balanced doesn't win in a points system. You have to excel or be drastically better in more than one metric to be #1.

7 Rings has excelled in streaming and airplay more than any other song for seven weeks which is why it's been #1 for that long.

When a different song excels substantially better in more than one of those metrics it'll reach #1.

The formula is just fine.

I know thinking isn't your strong suit, but 7 rings came out in January, so having a Grammy right now would be pretty impossible.

It's also not attached to a movie so it can't win movie awards.

7 rings is bigger on radio, bigger on streaming, and clearly bigger on the Billboard Hot 100 but you can keep telling yourself that Shallow is anywhere close to it if it makes you feel any better

Clock them  :clap3:

Stop fighting with those people. The worst happened to them. Shallow became a WW smash hit. Literally their worst nightmare. And when the only drag they had left was “Well it was a moderate hit in the US!!!1!!! Radio1!!!!” she catapults to #1 and from out of the Top 40 on radio to #14. :rip: They have nothing left but to start comparing it to Maroon 5 or whatever :bibliahh:

Shallow will outlast 7 Rings in the end like it did with TUN and break up anyway. It's been charting 6 months and is still predicted to be in the top 10 next week
